Blue Prince: Time-Lock Safe Guide (Shelter)

The Time-Lock Safe is one of the more secretive vaults in Blue Prince, hidden deep in the Shelter—an Outer Room you can’t even access until you’ve cracked open the west side of the manor. This safe doesn’t need a key or a lockpick. It just needs… time.

Yep, literally.

Here’s how to find it, unlock it, and what you get inside.

Step 1: Open the West Gate

Before you can even think about the safe, you need to reach the part of the estate that holds the Shelter room.

Draft the Garage room on the west side of the manor.
Use a Breaker Box to power it up.
Open the garage door and exit outside.
Walk down and to the right to find the West Gate.
Unlock the gate to permanently access a new patch of Outer Room land.

Step 2: Draft the Shelter

The Shelter is one of several Outer Rooms you might be able to place in that newly opened space.

If you don’t see it in the draft pool that day, you can quit and reload your save to try again.
Once drafted, enter the Shelter and head down the stairs.
You’ll find the Time-Lock Safe sitting on a shelf near a Terminal.
Interact with the safe’s panel—not the Terminal—to access the timer.

Step 3: Set the Safe’s Time (One Hour Into the Future)

To open the safe, you need to set it for a time and date at least one hour after the current in-game time.

Here's how to figure that out:

Current Date: Read the Expedition note on the Security Terminal. The expedition starts on November 7. Add the number of in-game days you’ve completed to that (subtracting 1 because Day 1 is November 7).
- Example: If you're on Day 5, the current date is November 11.
- If you go past November 30, start counting into December.
Current Time: Use visible clocks around the estate (like the one in the Den or on the clock tower outside). Each day starts at 8:00 AM, and time progresses as you explore.
Once you know the current time and date, set the safe at least one hour later, in one-hour increments.

Step 4: Wait and Return

After you set the time:

The safe will unlock once the in-game clock hits your chosen time.
You can wait inside the Shelter, or go explore and return.
Each hour of in-game time = ~5 real minutes.
The safe stays open for 4 in-game hours, so don’t delay.
