If you're planning on stealing everything that isn’t nailed down, you’ll need a place to sell it. Regular merchants won’t touch stolen goods, but Fences will happily take them off your hands—for a price. Here’s where to find every Fence in Oblivion Remastered, whether you’re working with the Thieves Guild or just freelancing your way through Cyrodiil.

What Fences Do in Oblivion Remastered

Fences buy stolen goods—simple as that. For Thieves Guild members, selling enough stolen items unlocks new quests. And here’s a neat trick: sell a stolen item to a Fence, buy it back, and it loses the "stolen" tag. Now it’s yours, clean and legal.

Non-Thieves Guild Fences

If you’re not into guild politics but still want to profit from your sticky fingers, these Fences are available without needing to join the Thieves Guild.

  • Manheim Maulhand

Location: Inn of Ill Omen (Green Road, between Bravil and Imperial City)
    Unlock: None

  • M'raaj-Dar

    Location: Cheydinhal Dark Brotherhood Sanctuary
Unlock: Join the Dark Brotherhood (A Knife in the Dark quest)

  • Dunbarrow Cove Fences

(Requires clearing Dunbarrow Cove and buying upgrades)

    • Jak Silver – Supplier upgrade

    • Kovan Kren – Spymaster upgrade

    • Melliwin – Fletcher upgrade

    • Khafiz – Fence upgrade

Thieves Guild Fences

You’ll need to join the Thieves Guild and climb the ranks to unlock these Fences. Selling stolen goods to them also helps you progress the guild’s questline.

  • Ongar the World-Weary

Location: Bruma (Olav's Tap and Tack or Ongar's House)
Unlock: Reach Pickpocket rank (Quest: May the Best Thief Win)

  • Dar Jee

Location: Leyawiin (near Three Sisters' Inn, Five Claws Lodge, or his house)
Unlock: Reach Bandit rank (Quest: The Elven Maiden)

  • Luciana Galena

Location: Bravil (The Lonely Suitor Lodge or her house)
Unlock: Reach Cat Burglar rank (Quest: Misdirection)

  • Orrin

    Location: Anvil Castle’s Smithy
Unlock: Reach Shadowfoot rank (Quest: Taking Care of Lex)

  • Fathis Ules

    Location: Imperial City (various houses)
Unlock: Reach Master Thief rank (Quest: Arrow of Extrication)

Final Blurb

Regardless of whether you're a proud member of the Thieves Guild or just a casual kleptomaniac, Fences keep your pockets full and your inventory clear. Just remember—guards don’t care who you sold that silver platter to. They’ll still come running if they catch you in the act.
