Owning a castle in Oblivion Remastered doesn’t require noble blood—just a good sword arm and a little patience. If you’re tired of living in inns or cramped houses, here’s how to claim Battlehorn Castle for free.
Where to Find Battlehorn Castle (Map Location)
Start by heading west from Chorrol along the Black Road. Keep going and you’ll stumble upon Battlehorn Castle under attack by marauders. You can see the location on the map below.
Clear Out the Marauders
Once you arrive, you’ll need to wipe out every marauder assaulting the castle. Watch out for their leader—he’s decked out in Dwarven armor and hits harder than the rest. Take your time, heal when needed, and make sure none of them are left standing.
Claim the Battlehorn Castle Deed by Talking to a Guard
After the fight, look around for any surviving guards (AKA Battlehorn Man-At-Arms). If at least one is still alive, talk to them. They’ll hand over the deed to Battlehorn Castle, officially making you the new owner. No gold required—just a bit of bloodshed.
Note: You need at least one guard to survive so make sure you’re careful!
Upgrade Your New Home
Once the castle is yours, you can invest in upgrades to restore it to its former glory. Head to a merchant in town who handles the renovations and start turning your free fortress into a proper stronghold.
Final Blurb
Who needs to buy a house when you can fight your way into a castle? Battlehorn Castle gives you a massive home for free—as long as you can swing a sword better than a group of bandits. It’s a fixer-upper, but hey, it’s hard to complain when the price is zero.
