Tainted Grail The Fall of Avalon Kill Galahad or One Eye
Image Credits: Questline, Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon
At the end of the Horns of the South region in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon, you’re forced into one of the most important decisions in the game.
The questline, Shadow of the Horns, comes down to this:
Do you side with Camelot and Galahad, or do you side with Brendan, One Eye, and the Southern rebellion?
You’ll need to kill one of them to progress... but depending on what you do afterward, you could also break the entire region and lock yourself out of critical progression.
Let’s walk through who you can kill, what happens if you try to play neutral (or go for killing them both…), and why this isn’t just another “choose a faction” moment.

Kill Col Galahad and Side with the Rebellion
Siding with Brendan and One Eye means stopping Galahad before he scorches the South. The rebellion views him as a fanatic; someone who brings nothing but fire, death, and loyalty to a dying throne.
If you kill Galahad:
You support the rebellion’s independence
Brendan gives you the seal to Sewal’s Crypt, exposing deep secrets about Avalon and Camelot’s history
You unlock darker truths about Arthur, Merlin, and the South’s past
The tribes begin to support you
The South shifts toward self-rule, but not without baggage
Consequences:
You lose favor with Camelot permanently
You lock yourself out of Galahad’s rewards and perspective
The Horns become your responsibility... and not everyone welcomes the change
Your path gets murkier, politically and morally
This is the path for players who want the truth... even if it burns bridges.
Kill One Eye and Side with Camelot
Backing Galahad means wiping out the rebellion and restoring Camelot’s grip on the South. Galahad views the rebels as heretics and monsters, and he brings the hammer down hard.
If you kill One Eye:
You get promoted to Captain of the Keepers
Camelot provides reinforcements and legitimacy
You gain access to military resources and lore
The region is brought under control and structure returns
Consequences:
You lose access to what was hidden in Sewal’s Crypt
The truth behind Avalon’s betrayal remains buried
Some southern allies may now see you as a traitor
The tribal alliance is broken
This is the path for players who value order... even if it’s built on half-truths and silence.
What If You Kill Both or Refuse Everyone?
Here’s where the game gets messy.
If you:
Kill Galahad
Then go to Sewal and refuse to help him
And then tell the Captain to get lost...
The region turns hostile, and you can no longer forge the gong, which is needed to progress the main quest.
Blacksmiths everywhere shut you out. Horns of the South becomes a war zone. You get soft-locked out of the normal path forward.
Your only option is to:
Go to Excalibur manually
Use time-stop and healing potions
Pull the sword with brute force while avoiding or surviving attacks
You can still progress the main story... but the region is broken, there’s no resolution, and it feels like a mistake; because honestly, it kind of is.
This is technically allowed, but not recommended unless you really know what you're doing or don’t care about losing story content.
Final Blurb & FAQ
This isn’t a clean moral choice. There is no “good” side here.
One Eye manipulates, Galahad burns, and Brendan just wants to survive. But your decision sets the tone for how Avalon sees you, and whether you walk away backed by power... or truth.
Pick carefully. The consequences are permanent.
FAQ
Q: Can I play neutral and not kill either Galahad or One Eye?
No. Eventually, the story forces you to choose a side. Trying to play both ends usually makes things worse.
Q: What happens if I kill both or reject both sides?
You lock yourself out of forging the gong. NPCs go hostile, and you have to force your way through the next part of the main quest.
Q: Is it still possible to get Excalibur?
Yes, but you must use potions and abilities to survive while pulling the sword. There’s no quest resolution if you go this way.
Q: Does killing Galahad ruin your Camelot alignment?
Yes. You’ll lose all support from Camelot and miss out on their storylines and rewards.
Q: Is there a best choice?
Depends on what you value. If you want story revelations and rebellion support, kill Galahad. If you want structure and Camelot’s help, kill One Eye. Neither option is clean.
