The gameplay loop in Wildgate is simple but layered: spawn with your crew, loot high-risk areas, engage in tactical ship and boarding combat, then either extract with the artifact or die trying.
Each match is about survival, coordination, and adapting to crew and the chaos happening around you.
Match Structure
Spawn and Assign Roles
You drop into the map with a 4-player ship. One person must pilot or your team stalls. Others focus on repairs, combat, or boarding. Role discipline decides early survival.
Looting and Upgrading
You fly to POIs to collect ship gadgets, weapons, and crew gear. Loot affects combat power. Some gadgets counter teleporting, others shield or cloak your ship.

Ship Combat and Boarding
Mid-match combat is where teams clash. You either snipe from turrets, rush in to board, or both. Enemy ships can be disabled from inside.

An artifact spawns late match. Holding it makes you a target. If you survive with it, rewards are higher. But any team can still extract without it if they outlast the others.

Each player has a clear job. Swapping mid-match is risky.

Engineer: Fixes damage, restores systems
