Wood Boards Location and Guide

Wood Boards are a quest item in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. You’ll need them to help out a spirit in the Esoteric Ruins. Here’s where to find them and what to do.
Where to Find Wood Boards
Location: Esoteric Ruins
Finish the maze puzzle in the Esoteric Ruins.
After you exit the maze, look for a collapsed building nearby.
The Wood Boards are sitting on the roof of that building. (Because why wouldn’t broken wood be somewhere annoying to reach?)
If you haven’t done the maze yet, you’ll need to clear that first.
How to Use Wood Boards
Bring the Wood Boards to the spirit-like NPC near the Lumiere’s Wrecks Expedition Flag in the Esoteric Ruins.
Give them the Boards.
The spirit will transform into a Portier. As thanks, you’ll get the Protecting Heal Pictos.
No crafting, no extra steps. Just hand them over.
Should You Attack the Portier?
Short answer: No.
If you leave the Portier alone (and any other friendly white Nevrons), Blanche will reward you later with 100 Colour of Lumina.
If you attack the Portier, you only get 3 Colour of Lumina and a Polished Chroma Catalyst. Not worth it.
So unless you just enjoy starting fights with peaceful spirits, it’s better to stay friendly.
Final Blurb
Grab the Boards, help the spirit, and move on. It’s one of the simpler side quests in Expedition 33 unless you decide to start a Nevron-smashing spree, which I don’t recommend.
