YAPYAP: How to Invite Friends

YAPYAP: How to Invite Friends

Playing YAPYAP with friends is handled through Steam, not an in game invite menu. To invite friends in YAPYAP, you must start a lobby and send an invite through the Steam overlay. There is no separate friend code or invite screen inside the game itself.

How To Invite Friends Step By Step

Start YAPYAP and load into the main hub. You do not need to begin a run first.

Once you are in the hub, press Shift plus Tab to open the Steam overlay. Open your friends list from there.

Right click the friend you want to invite and select Invite to Game. If they accept, they will join your lobby directly.

When Friends Can Join

Friends can join while you are in the hub. They cannot join once a run has already started.

If someone disconnects, they must be reinvited from the hub again. Mid run reconnects are not supported.

Common Invite Issues

If Invite to Game is greyed out, make sure:

  • You are online on Steam

  • Your friend is online on Steam

  • Both of you are running the same game version

If invites are not showing up, restarting the game or Steam usually fixes it.

Voice And Mic Reminder

YAPYAP relies heavily on voice input. Make sure everyone sets their microphone correctly before starting a run.

Bad mic setup causes spell casting issues and confusion fast, especially in co op.

Final Blurb

YAPYAP multiplayer is simple once you know where to look. There is no in game invite button, everything runs through Steam. Start in the hub, invite through the overlay, and only launch a run once everyone is inside. Fewer steps, less yelling, more chaos.
