Gaming Guide Writer, Evergreen Content
Remote, Freelance | 03/21/2025
About Us
We’re GamerBlurb—a relatively small team of friends and colleagues who probably (definitely) spend too much time playing games and enjoy writing about them. What started as a fun side hustle is now our full-time thing, and we’re looking to grow the team. Our goal is simple: create clear, accurate, and entertaining guides that players actually want to read.
The Role
We’re looking for freelance gaming guide writers who love diving deep into games and breaking things down in a way that’s easy to understand (with a little bit of humor included). You’ll be writing short-form and long-form content that’s evergreen—meaning it stays relevant and helpful long after it’s published. Think beginner tips, leveling guides, class overviews, and “how to not get wrecked” kind of stuff. The kind of content players are always searching for, whether it’s Day 1 or a year later.
What You’ll Do
• Write clear, concise, and engaging gaming guides with a bit of added humor
• Research games and topics thoroughly (yes, playing counts as research)
• Follow our simple, friendly, slightly dry-humor tone
• Format articles for readability (bullet points, spacing, short sentences)
• Provide high-quality images/screenshots to use for the article header (or within the article itself)
• Hit deadlines and be open to feedback
What We’re Looking For
• Strong writing skills (experience is great, but not required)
• Ability to explain game mechanics in a simple, easy-to-read way
• Familiarity with both current and classic games (especially RPGs, MMOs, and strategy games)
• Bonus points if you know how to write for SEO (but don’t worry—we can teach you)
• Reliable, self-motivated, and easy to work with
Note: We do not allow the use of AI for writing articles.
Perks
• Work remotely from anywhere
• Write at whatever time is best for your schedule
• Get paid to play and write about games
• Be part of a chill, growing team
• Bonus perks and permissions in our exclusive member-only Discord (coming Soon™)
To Apply
Send an email to team@gamerblurb.com with a short intro, any writing samples you’ve got (preferably gaming-related), and your favorite game of all time. Freelancers and beginners welcome—we care more about clarity and tone than a fancy resume.
Let’s make cool stuff together!
