Abiotic Factor: All Areas & Zones
Written by Michael Owen | Abiotic Factor
The main area in Abiotic Factor is the GATE Cascade Research Facility, a massive multi-zone lab overrun by anomalies, enemies, and dimensional portals. Inside it, players unlock access to hostile worlds called Portal Worlds, each with their own threats, loot, and secrets.
GATE Cascade Research Facility Zone
This is your core hub. Every main progression route connects back to it. You’ll craft, upgrade, and survive here between portal trips. The facility has several major sectors, each with their own enemy types, hazards, and puzzle layouts.
Office Sector
Your first main zone. Expect broken rooms, early enemies, and key story terminals.
Manufacturing West
Crafting-heavy zone with raw material access. Moderate enemy density and machinery hazards.
Cascade Laboratories
Mid-game zone full of experimental tech and early Portal World access points.
Security Sector
Tough enemies, turrets, and locked rooms. Requires upgraded hacking gear to explore fully.
Hydroplant
Used for late-game crafting items and power puzzles. Explorable after gaining more tools.
Reactors
Fungus-covered area that requires Anti-Fungal Gelatin to enter. Leads to major story events.
Subsection: The Encroachment
A strange transitional zone filled with dimensional leakage. Connects to several high-tier anomalies.
Portal World (Anteverses) Zones
These are accessed through dimensional portals inside Cascade. Each world resets its resources twice per week; Monday and Thursday at midnight. Items you place inside won’t disappear unless you're inside when the reset happens.

Optional but rewarding if you bring the right gear.

Space Queen – Very late-game. Alien and hostile.
Easter Egg Worlds and Zones
Hidden zones triggered by odd actions or secret locations.
The Pool Room – Classic liminal space vibe.
The World in the Mirror – Distorted mirror version of a known zone.
Some Distant Shore – Abstract dreamlike area with rare interactions.
Final Blurb
Every location in Abiotic Factor adds to the creeping mystery and expanding threat. Cascade is your base, but the real test begins in the Portal Worlds. Learn their layouts, manage resets, and bring the right tools… because most of them want you dead.
