Absolver Quest Guide and Walkthrough KCD2 | Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

If you’ve ever wanted to make money by stealing, forging, and a little bit of lying, this quest is for you. In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Absolver is a side task where you help a soldier named Thomas of Kolin steal a prized sword from a Cuman warrior named Basan. You can play it straight, forge a fake, or trick Thomas entirely. Either way, money is money.
Quest Details:
Starting Location: Sigismund’s Camp (Kuttenberg Region)
Quest Giver: Thomas of Kolin
Prerequisite: Complete Main Quest 14: Speak of the Devil
Reward: 607.9 Groschen (as long as Thomas believes he has the real sword)
Quest Type: Side Task
1. Steal Basan’s Sword
Basan, a Cuman warrior, keeps his sword, The Absolver, in his tent.
His tent is on the east side of the camp near the tournament arena.
Wait until Basan is away or asleep.
Sneak in and take The Absolver from his chest.
If you get caught, prepare to either fight or bribe your way out.
2. Forge a Replica of The Absolver (Optional)
If you want to trick Thomas, you’ll need to forge a fake version of The Absolver.
Ingredients Needed:
1x Deer skin (Buy from the armorsmith)
1x Eight-sided sword pommel (Buy from the weaponsmith)
1x Horned sword guard (Buy from the weaponsmith)
2x Frankfurt steel (Available at the blacksmith)
2x Iron (Available at the blacksmith)
Once you have all the materials, find a blacksmith station and craft the replica.
3. Decide What to Do With The Absolver
Now that you have both swords, it’s time to decide how honest you want to be.
Option 1: Put the Real Sword Back and Give Thomas the Fake
If your replica is at least Level 3, Thomas won’t know the difference.
Return the real sword to Basan’s chest.
Give Thomas the fake sword and collect your reward.
Option 2: Lie to Thomas and Keep the Real Sword
Tell Thomas you returned the sword (even if you didn’t).
Hand him the fake while keeping the real Absolver for yourself.
Hope no one notices later.
Option 3: Give Thomas the Real Sword
No tricks, no lies—just give him the real Absolver.
He’ll be happy, and you’ll still get paid the full reward.
4. Complete the Quest
Once you hand over a sword, the quest is complete. As long as Thomas believes he got the real one, you’ll get the full 607.9 Groschen.
Final Thoughts:
