Wolf’s Call
Summons a wolf.
Effect: Summons a wolf
Command Spell: Sends the wolf at a specific target
You’ll find this in Horns of the South, inside the Miner’s Tunnels. Look for a dig spot down there. That’s where the spell is buried.
This is the cheapest summon in the game, only requiring 10 mana.
It’s great for early-game fights or when you need something to chase an enemy while you backpedal and panic-heal.
Skeleton Army
Summons a skeleton.
Effect: Summons a skeleton fighter
Command Spell: Directs the skeleton to attack a chosen target
Found in the Forgotten Cemetery crypt, which you can reach during a quest from the Quartermaster. Inside, you’ll meet a necromancer and his zombie servant.
Don’t kill the servant; talk to him after you loot the necromancer.
The spell itself is simple, but effective. Skeletons draw aggro, slash enemies, and let you focus on casting or running. Solid early pick.
Grindylow
Goblin Bois.
Effect: Summons a tough creature called Grindylow
Command Spell: Basic enemy targeting
To get it, head west of the Archspire Fast Travel Point, near the Druidic Shrine. There’s a small bandit camp guarded by two tougher enemies.
Take them out, then loot the locked chest near the fire to get the spell.
Grindylow is a bit of a bruiser and can constantly stun enemies especially if you have multiple, and can keep pressure on bosses or mobs when other summons fall apart.
Use it when your basic minions are getting deleted too fast... or when you just want to watch enemies get smacked around.
Keeper
Summons a knight / warrior.
Effect: Summons a Keeper soldier
Command Spell: Yes, works like other summons
To get this summon, head to teh Sunken Village crypt (Tomb of Sewall). Go behind the statue, turn right, and find a chest with the spell.
The Keeper looks like a castle guard and fights like one too. Sword, armor, everything.
It’s a bit slower than others, but more durable.
Corpse Eater (AKA Zombie)
Summons a fast melee hunter
Effect: Summons a quick, aggressive zombie-like corpse.
Command Spell: Basic enemy targeting
To get this one, head into the dungeon found in the Drowned Village area. You’ll need to take down a boss version of this, then loot the nearby chest to get the spell.
The corpse zips across the battlefield, closes gaps fast, and keeps enemies on their heels. Great for interrupting ranged attackers or softening up targets before they can reach you.
No stat requirements makes it easy to slot into any build, especially if you’re running hybrid magic. It’s not the tankiest summon, but if you want something that goes in swinging... this one’s a solid choice.
Ghost of Broc Meala
High mana, high reward
Effect: Summons a ghost warrior
Command Spell: Lets you target enemies
This is one of the strongest summons in the game and needs 10 spirituality and 75 mana. If you’re investing in Spirituality, this is your endgame summon.
It hits hard, lasts long, and looks terrifying in combat. Best used when you’re focused on pure spellcasting and don’t mind blowing a big chunk of mana to stay alive.
Rumpolt’s Revenge
A cheese that does… Something?
Light Cast: Summons a cheese creature
Channeled Effect: Slowly turns enemies into cheese
Found during a questline involving a chef who loves their cheese. And yes, this spell is 100% real.
It doesn’t use mana, which is nice. Instead, it takes your health.
Weird, but the channeled effect isn’t bad.
Battlemage
Summons a hybrid caster
Effect: Summons a spellcaster that mixes ranged and melee attacks
Command Spell: Yes, targets enemies directly
You can buy this spell from Maggot, the druid NPC in Act 2. He’s tied to a story quest and opens a shop early in the region.
The Battlemage uses fireballs and melee swings, but be warned… its AoE spells can aggro friendly NPCs. Great damage dealer, but not the most subtle ally if you’re in a town.
Good for wide-open fights or clearing mobs fast, just keep it leashed around civilians.
Master Assassin
Summons a high-damage melee unit
Effect: Summons a fast, deadly assassin
Command Spell: Yes
You’ll find this sold by an inquisitor NPC sitting on a rock in the mountains west of the main Act 2 town. Head out from Area 1’s western gate and follow the road past a harp-shaped rock into the hills.
He’s easy to miss, and yes, he can die.
The Master Assassin doesn’t waste time; it sprints in and shreds enemies with dual blades. Much stronger than early-game summons, especially when dealing with armored targets.
Solid pick for bosses and anything you don’t want living too long.
Golem
Summons a walking tank
Effect: Summons a heavily armored bruiser
Command Spell: Yes
This is sold by the same inquisitor that sells Master Assassin. Look for him in the mountains west of the Act 2 town, near the same rock path mentioned above.
The Golem is your frontliner. It soaks hits, deals heavy melee damage, and sticks to targets like glue. Not flashy, but dependable.
If your other summons keep dying, this is the one you want out first.
Winged Servant
A tactical birb
Effect: Summons a raven that blinds a target for 10 seconds
Command Spell: Yes, targets a specific enemy
You can find this one in the Cursed Hollow, inside an old watchtower near the eastern cliffs. Climb the rocks on the left side and drop through a hole in the roof. The spell is in a chest at the top floor.
Winged Servant doesn’t hit hard, but the blind effect is what makes it worth using. It stuns or disorients enemies long enough to get free hits in or stop a spellcast.
It’s not tanky, not strong, but it’s annoying... which is kind of the point. Great for boss fights, mages, or anything you’d rather not have hitting you for a few seconds.
Also, it’s a summonable raven. That’s just cool.
Note: Soul Salvage (Bonus Utility)
A support spell for your summons
Light Cast: Removes a summon and refunds some mana
Heavy Cast: Ends a summon early and heals you based on how much health it had left
You’ll find this near the Forgotten Cemetery while getting Skeleton Army. It’s not a summon itself, but it helps manage them.
It’s great if your summon is about to die, or if you just need a burst of mana or healing mid-fight. Not insane but practical.
Final Blurb & FAQ
Wolves and skeletons to armored guards and dairy-based monstrosities; you’ve got a small but flavorful spellbook to work with.
If you’re hoping for a full summoner class, it’s still a little bit janky, and we’ll update this guide if/when we find more.. But these spells are strong additions to any hybrid build.
Especially when paired with Soul Salvage or buffs.
They won’t win fights for you alone most of the time... unless you're the kind of person who thinks cheese is a weapon. In that case, you’re all set.
FAQ
Q: How many real summons are in the game?
There are five actual summon spells: Wolf’s Call, Skeleton Army, Grindilo, Summon Keeper, and Ghost of Broc Meala. Plus one weird cheese summon.
Q: Which summon is best?
Ghost of Broc Meala is the strongest overall, but it requires 10 Spirituality and 75 mana. Grindilo is tankier and easier to get early.
Q: Can any class use summons?
Yes. Wolf’s Call and Skeleton Army require no stats at all. Others need Spirituality.
Q: What’s the deal with Soul Salvage?
It lets you remove a summon and either recover mana or heal yourself, depending on how you cast it.
Q: Is Rumpolt’s Revenge just a joke spell?
Nope. It sounds goofy but is viable in a Spirituality-heavy build. Costs health instead of mana. Surprisingly effective.
