Avowed Nature vs Nurture Quest Guide and Walkthrough

In the Nature vs Nurture quest in Avowed, you’ll investigate a gang of seemingly peaceful xaurips and the mysterious events surrounding a series of farm attacks. Here's a simple guide and walkthrough to help you complete the quest:

1. Starting the Quest

• Location: Head northeast of Farmer's Market in southeastern Emerald Stair. Outside a house at the top of the slope, you’ll find Dolina and Masco Laima.

• Conversation: Dolina explains that the xaurips have destroyed their farm equipment, but the xaurips themselves are non-aggressive. She asks you to investigate their camp in the swamps to the northwest.

2. Investigate the Xaurip Camp

• Location: Travel to the far northwest of the region, near the Grim Wetlands on your map.

• Arriving at the Camp: Enter the camp where you’ll find the xaurips are passive and won’t attack you.

• Climb the Walkway: Go up the wooden walkway and climb ledges to reach a cave entrance.

3. Meet Amadio

• Conversation: Inside the cave, speak with Amadio, who explains that he has achieved a symbiosis with the xaurips. He claims to protect them while they help him achieve his goals.

• Amadio’s Belief: He believes the animancers' machines are provoking the Dreamscourge and that destroying the machines will prevent both the Dreamscourge and the xaurips from becoming a threat.

4. Make Your Decision

• Companion Reactions:

  • Marius agrees with Amadio’s view.

  • Kai is skeptical.

• You can either agree with Amadio’s methods or attack him.

5. Agree with Amadio

• If you agree with Amadio by saying "You're just trying to protect the land. I support that," Amadio will be pleased.

  • Call Off the Rangers: Return to Dolina and Masco. You can either:

    • Call off the rangers, explaining Amadio’s reasoning, or

    • Lie and say the rangers have been called off.

  • If you choose to call off the rangers, Dolina will accept it as long as Amadio isn’t using animancy to cheat.

• Return to Amadio: Once you inform Amadio the rangers are called off, he will reward you with the Wolf Boots and you’ll earn 254 XP.

• If You Lie: Dolina will thank you and give you the Ring of Pain Amplification.

6. Attack Amadio

• If you choose to attack Amadio during the conversation, the entire camp will turn hostile. You’ll have to fight Xaurip Ravagers, a Shaman, a Bulwark, Amadio, and a couple of Skirmishers in the cave.

Final Notes

• Best Outcome: Agreeing with Amadio is the best option if you want to avoid a fight and earn valuable rewards like Wolf Boots.

• Alternative: If you prefer combat, you can fight Amadio and the xaurips for loot and XP.
