If you're going to travel across the massive world of KCD2, you’ll need a good horse. Some are fast, some are strong, and some just look nice while you gallop into trouble. Here’s a quick look at the best horses you can get (especially early in the game)

Pebbles – A Familiar Face

  • Speed: 32

  • Stamina: 127

  • Capacity: 138

  • Courage: 12

  • Cost: Free (with skill check)

  • Location: Semine

Pebbles is the same trusty horse from the first game. It’s not the fastest or the strongest, but it’s free if you pass a skill check. Plus, with 12 Courage, it won’t freak out and throw you off as often as some other horses.

Tarant – The Speedster

  • Speed: 45

  • Stamina: 160

  • Capacity: 108

  • Courage: 4

  • Cost: 1,220 Groschen

  • Location: Semine

If speed is all that matters, Tarant is your pick. With a top speed of 45, it’s the fastest horse you can get early on. Just don’t expect it to hold much gear or stay calm when danger appears.

Bitterklee – The Workhorse

  • Speed: 38

  • Stamina: 131

  • Capacity: 208

  • Courage: 8

  • Cost: 1,000 Groschen

  • Location: Semine

If you like hoarding loot, Bitterklee is your best bet. With a huge 208 Capacity, this horse can carry more than anything else available early in the game. It’s not the bravest, but it gets the job done.

Herring – The Freebie

  • Speed: 40

  • Stamina: 169

  • Capacity: 138

  • Courage: 14

  • Cost: Free (from Back In The Saddle quest)

  • Location: Trosky Castle

Herring is a well-rounded horse that you get for free during the Back In The Saddle quest. If you can wait until this point in the game, it’s one of the best no-cost options.

Soldier – The Warhorse

  • Speed: 34

  • Stamina: 144

  • Capacity: 168

  • Courage: 15

  • Cost: 1,330 Groschen

  • Location: Semine

Soldier is built for battle. With high Courage and solid all-around stats, it’s the best balanced option before progressing further in the game. It’s pricey, but if you want a horse that won’t ditch you in a fight, it’s worth it.

Schkrle – The Ultimate Horse (If You Don’t Mind Stealing)

  • Speed: 30

  • Stamina: 184

  • Capacity: 238

  • Courage: 17

  • Cost: Stolen

  • Location: Nabakov

Schkrle is the best horse on this list—if you’re willing to steal it. It comes fully geared and has the highest stats across the board, except for speed. If you don’t mind breaking the law, this is the best ride you can get early on.

Final TBlurb

If you want something free, go with Pebbles or Herring. If you care about speed, Tarant is your best bet. But if you’re looking for the absolute best horse, Schkrle is the clear winner—as long as you don’t mind "borrowing" it permanently.
