Blue Prince: Aquarium Room Guide

The Aquarium is one of the weirder rooms you can draft in Blue Prince, and that’s saying something. It costs 1 Gem and is labeled “Unusual” for good reason.
This room counts as every room type. Yes, all of them.
Green Room? Check. Red Room? Check. Gear Room? Somehow, still check.
That means any item, puzzle, or effect tied to a specific room color or category will treat the Aquarium as a match.
Why The Aquarium is Useful
Crafting: If you’re trying to build a Burning Glass in the Workshop or power something with the Boiler Room, the Aquarium helps trigger those room-type effects.
Puzzle Progression: Some areas or puzzles in the game require having drafted a specific room type beforehand. The Aquarium lets you check all the boxes at once.
Underground Access: If upgraded with the Electric Eel perk, the Aquarium acts like a powered Boiler Room, which is crucial for routing power to the Reserve Tank in the Pump Room (hello, Reservoir draining).
Cozy Bonus: It’s just a peaceful room with a big fish. That’s gotta be worth something.
Electric Eel Upgrade
To unlock the Electric Eel upgrade:
Find an Upgrade Disk.
Use it on a Terminal and hope it lands on the Aquarium.
If you get the Eel upgrade, you can now route electricity from the Aquarium like you would with the Boiler Room.
This comes in handy when you’re missing the Boiler Room entirely and still need to power something, like the Pump Room Reserve Tank.
