Blue Prince: Billiard Room Dart Board Puzzle Guide

The dartboard puzzle in the Billiard Room starts off simple—but give it a few tries and you’ll quickly feel like you’re back in high school math class, except with more neon colors and existential dread. The good news is, once you understand how the puzzle works, even the most complex versions become manageable. And if not, well… there’s always an Upgrade Disk for that.
How the Dart Puzzle Works
Each puzzle is randomized, but the rules stay the same. You’re not aiming darts or doing anything based on real dart rules. Instead, each number on the board has a color, and that color determines the math operation tied to it. You apply operations in order from the center of the board outward, not by traditional math rules.
Here's what each color means:
Blue = Addition
Yellow = Subtraction
Pink = Multiplication
Purple = Division
Advanced Symbols and What They Do
As you complete more puzzles, things escalate. Here are the symbols you might start seeing:
Square symbol in the center = Square the result at that step
Diamond symbol = Flip the number (e.g. 91 becomes 19)
Squiggly lines = Round to the nearest 10 or 100
Red dot on a section = Repeat that operation (once per dot)
Red slash = Divide result by 2
Red X = Skip that number entirely
Yes, it gets intense.
Example Solutions
Basic Puzzle
Start with 13 (blue)
Subtract 12 (yellow) → 13 - 12 = 1
Multiply by 1 (pink) → 1 × 1 = 1
With Multiple Steps
Start with 18
Subtract 8 → 10
Multiply by 4 → 40
Divide by 20 → 2
With Square Function
Start with 20
Subtract 1 → 19
Subtract 13 → 6
Multiply by 1 → 6
Square it → 6² = 36
Divide by 12 → 3
With Flip
Multiply 10 × 10 = 100
Subtract 9 = 91
Flip result → 19

How to Make the Puzzle Easier
Eventually, the puzzles get so complicated you might start questioning your life choices. Fortunately, there’s a fix.
Find a computer terminal in the mansion and use an Upgrade Disk to unlock the Speakeasy option. This setting changes every dartboard puzzle into simple addition only. No exponents, flips, or squiggly lines—just math you can do without crying.
Other upgrade options include:
Break Room – Start the next day with a Keycard
Pool Hall – Adds rooms like the Great Hall and Foyer to today’s draft (mostly flavor)
Final Blurb
You don’t need to be a math whiz to master the dartboard puzzle—you just need to follow the colors, work inside out, and keep your cool when the board starts asking you to square things or flip numbers upside down. Or just get the Speakeasy upgrade and pretend none of that complexity ever existed. Your choice.
