Diablo 4 Lair Boss Loot Table
Diablo 4 Lair Bosses are the best way to target farm Uniques in Season 14, but only if you farm the right boss. Each Lair Boss has a dedicated loot table, every boss can also pull from the general Unique pool, and all of them have a chance at Mythic Uniques. The table matters because farming the wrong boss for the right item is not grinding. It is donating keys to a demon with no legal obligation to help you.
The short version is this: farm the boss that has your Unique on its dedicated table, use Belial when you want to choose a boss table with better high-end value, use the Horadric Cube for general-pool Uniques without a clean boss source, and save Corrupted Reaper for the serious Mythic chase. The boss ladder looks like a maze at first, but it is really a map. Read the table correctly and the road gets much shorter.

How Lair Boss Loot Works In Diablo 4
Lair Bosses unlock on Torment I and higher. You fight the boss first, then spend the required key to open its Hoard after the kill. That is a major improvement over older boss systems because the key goes into the reward chest, not into the privilege of getting flattened at the entrance.
Each Lair Boss has a dedicated loot table. These are the items you farm that boss for. A boss can also drop from the general Unique pool, which is where many popular all-class or multi-class items live. On top of that, all Lair Bosses can drop Mythic Uniques, though the odds are still rare enough to remind you this is Diablo and not a charity drive.
| Boss Tier | Examples | Key Type | Best Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| Initiate Lair Bosses | Varshan, Grigoire, Beast in the Ice, Lord Zir, Urivar | Lair Key | Entry target farming and Greater Lair Key progression. |
| Greater Lair Bosses | Duriel, Andariel, Harbinger of Hatred, The Butcher | Greater Lair Key | Stronger Unique farming and higher-end boss rewards. |
| Exalted Lair Boss | Belial | Betrayer’s Husk | Selectable boss loot table and better high-end value. |
| Special / Seasonal Bosses | Astaroth, Bartuc, Corrupted Reaper | Activity-specific keys | Escalating Nightmare, Infernal Hordes, and Mythic-focused farming. |
The easiest way to think about the ladder is this: Initiate bosses start the climb, Greater bosses deepen the farm, Belial lets you choose a table, and Corrupted Reaper is where the Mythic hunt becomes the main event.
Dedicated Drops Vs General Unique Pool
The most important part of the Diablo 4 Lair Boss loot table is knowing the difference between dedicated drops and general-pool drops.
A dedicated drop is the reason you farm a specific boss. If Beast in the Ice lists Malefic Crescent, that is a real target farm. If Lord Zir lists The Umbracrux, that is a real target farm. If Bartuc lists Azurewrath, that is where the road points. These are the clean boss-table items.
A general-pool Unique is different. Items like Tibault’s Will, Flickerstep, Fists of Fate, Banished Lord’s Talisman, and similar all-class pieces can show up from bosses, but that does not always make any one boss a good farm for them. “Can drop” is not the same as “should farm.” That sentence will save more time than half the loot table.
- Farm dedicated boss tables for class-specific Uniques.
- Use Belial when you want to choose a specific boss table with stronger high-end rewards.
- Use the Horadric Cube when chasing a general-pool item by slot.
- Do not spam a random boss for one general-pool item unless the boss also drops other things you need.
This is where a lot of players lose hours. They see that an item can drop from a boss and assume the boss is a good target farm. Diablo 4 is perfectly happy to let you discover the difference one disappointing Hoard at a time.
Best Lair Bosses To Farm In Season 14
The best Lair Boss to farm is the one that drops your build’s item. Not the most famous boss. Not the one your friend got lucky on. Not the boss with the coolest arena. The one with the item in the table.
| Boss | Best Reason To Farm | My Take |
|---|---|---|
| Beast in the Ice | Malefic Crescent, Starfall Coronet, Deathless Visage, and several strong class pieces. | Excellent if your class has a real target here. Very skippable if not. |
| Lord Zir | The Umbracrux, Waxing Gibbous, X’Fal’s Corroded Signet, and strong class drops. | One of the better first checks for many builds. |
| Urivar | Yen’s Blessing and several expansion class Uniques. | Quietly useful. Not every good farm needs a dramatic entrance. |
| Duriel | Razorplate, class Greater boss drops, and Mythic chances. | Still good, just no longer the only boss worth respecting. |
| Andariel | Godslayer Crown and strong class tables. | Great when her table fits. Bad when you are only chasing the name. |
| Bartuc | Azurewrath and Infernal Hordes-linked drops. | Worth it if you like Hordes. If not, bring patience and possibly snacks. |
| Belial | Selectable boss loot table and better high-end farming. | One of the best uses of serious farming materials once your build is ready. |
| Corrupted Reaper | Top Mythic-focused seasonal boss. | The big endgame chase, not the place to test whether your build is “probably fine.” |
The best boss farm usually gives you more than one good outcome. If the boss only has one item you care about, dry streaks feel brutal. If the boss has your main item, a backup upgrade, and a few general-pool wins, the grind becomes much easier to stomach.
Best Lair Boss To Check By Class
If you do not know where to start, start with your class. This does not replace checking the exact item, but it gives you a better first path than farming Duriel because your brain still lives in an older season.
| Class | Bosses To Check First | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Barbarian | Duriel, Grigoire, Bartuc, Astaroth | Strong spread of weapons, chest pieces, gloves, and melee-focused drops. |
| Druid | Beast in the Ice, Lord Zir, Duriel, Astaroth | Good coverage for Werewolf, shapeshift, caster, and companion-style Uniques. |
| Necromancer | Beast in the Ice, Andariel, Astaroth, Harbinger of Hatred | Useful tables for minion, corpse, Blood, and Shadow setups. |
| Rogue | Lord Zir, Andariel, Urivar, Astaroth | Good weapon, boot, glove, and utility options across several Rogue builds. |
| Sorcerer | Beast in the Ice, Andariel, Lord Zir, Astaroth | Solid coverage for Fire, Cold, Lightning, and core Unique setups. |
| Spiritborn | Duriel, Astaroth, Harbinger of Hatred, Urivar | Several major expansion drops are spread across these tables. |
| Paladin | Lord Zir, Beast in the Ice, Harbinger of Hatred, Astaroth | Good mix of shields, weapons, jewelry, and class-defining pieces. |
| Warlock | Grigoire, Lord Zir, Harbinger of Hatred, Bartuc | Strong tables for newer Warlock damage pieces and endgame setups. |
Use this as a compass, not a law. Builds change, patches move items, and Diablo players invent new nonsense every season. Check your exact Unique before spending the keys.
General Unique Pool
Every Lair Boss can drop items from the general Unique pool alongside dedicated boss drops. This is where a lot of popular all-class or multi-class items live, including Tibault’s Will, Flickerstep, Fists of Fate, Banished Lord’s Talisman, Godslayer Crown, and several others.
General-pool drops are useful, but they are not always good target farms. If you want one specific general-pool item, the Horadric Cube is often better because it can target the item slot. Bosses are still worth running, but mostly as a side chance unless their dedicated table also helps you.
| General Pool Type | Examples | Best Way To Treat It |
|---|---|---|
| Weapons | Azurewrath, Shard of Verathiel, Rustbitten Dirk, The Butcher’s Cleaver, Thousand-Eye Reaver | Good bonus from bosses, better targeted by slot systems when available. |
| Armor | Crown of Lucion, Endurant Faith, Fists of Fate, Flickerstep, Frostburn, Godslayer Crown, Paingorger’s Gauntlets, Penitent Greaves, Razorplate, Soulbrand, Temerity, Tibault’s Will, Wyrdskin, Yen’s Blessing | Use bosses for extra chances, but use the Cube when chasing one slot. |
| Jewelry | Banished Lord’s Talisman, Blood-Mad Idol, Locran’s Talisman, Mother’s Embrace, X’Fal’s Corroded Signet, Signet of Pelghain | Great when it drops, painful when you try to brute-force one item through broad boss farming. |
The general pool is the wandering merchant of Diablo 4 loot. Sometimes it brings exactly what you wanted. Sometimes it brings your fifth wrong pair of boots and acts like the deal was fair.
Initiate Lair Boss Loot Table
Initiate Lair Bosses are the first layer of the boss ladder. They use Lair Keys, can help move you toward Greater Lair Keys, and are often where target farming starts once your build reaches Torment.
Echo of Varshan
Varshan is near the Tree of Whispers and uses Shadow / Physical damage. He is a clean early ladder farm if your class needs something from his table.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Overkill, 100,000 Steps, Ring of Red Furor, Sabre of Tsasgal |
| Druid | Autumnal Crown, Greatstaff of the Crone, Stone of Vehemen |
| Necromancer | Hangman’s Hand, The Hand of Naz |
| Rogue | Eaglehorn, Pitfighter’s Gull, Death’s Pavane |
| Sorcerer | Levin Grasp, Onyx Soul, Raiment of the Sea, Vox Omnium |
| Spiritborn | Balazan’s Maxtlatl, Wound Drinker |
| Paladin | Seal of the Second Trumpet, Wreath of Auric Laurel |
| Warlock | Ae’grom’s Schism, Seal of the Ophanim, Thrice-Woven Nightmare |
| Multiple Classes | Shard of Verathiel |
Varshan is not the flashiest boss, but flashy does not matter when the item is on the table. Farm him when the table fits. Leave him alone when it does not.
Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint
Grigoire is the lightning boss south of Ked Bardu. He is especially relevant for Paingorger’s Gauntlets and several class-specific pieces.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Gohr’s Devastating Grips, Might of Qual-Kehk, Rage of Harrogath |
| Druid | Hunter’s Zenith, The Basilisk, Will of Stone |
| Necromancer | Deathgrip, The Mortacrux |
| Rogue | Desperate March, The Maestro |
| Sorcerer | Strike of Stormhorn, Vision of the Firestorm |
| Spiritborn | Peacemonger’s Signet, Sunstained War-Crozier |
| Paladin | Bastion of Sir Matthias, Sunbrand |
| Warlock | Cage of Madness, Hands of the Worldbreaker, Seed of Horazon, Sire of Sin |
| Multiple Classes | Paingorger’s Gauntlets |
Grigoire is a practical farm, not a romantic one. If you need his table, kill him. If not, move on before lightning becomes your entire evening.
The Beast In The Ice
The Beast in the Ice is found at Glacial Fissure and is one of the more useful Initiate bosses for several class builds. Druids chasing Malefic Crescent should start here.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Ring of the Ravenous, The Relentless Heart |
| Druid | Accord of the Wilds, Airidah’s Inexorable Will, Malefic Crescent |
| Necromancer | Deathless Visage, Howl from Below, Mutilator Plate |
| Rogue | Orphan Maker, Saboteur’s Signet |
| Sorcerer | Gift of Frost, Starfall Coronet, The Oculus |
| Spiritborn | Protection of the Prime, Scorn of the Earth |
| Paladin | Light’s Rebuke, Sanctis of Kethamar |
| Warlock | Hellhound’s Sabatons, Kabraxis’ Will, The Eightfold Idol |
| Multiple Classes | Signet of Pelghain |
Beast in the Ice is a good farm when you have a reason to be there. Freezing yourself for loot your build does not need is not progress. It is just winter with extra steps.
Lord Zir
Lord Zir is found in The Darkened Way east of Kyovashad. His table has enough strong class items that he should be one of the first bosses you check when planning a farm.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Fields of Crimson, Twin Strikes |
| Druid | Gathlen’s Birthright, Unsung Ascetic’s Wraps, Waxing Gibbous |
| Necromancer | Cruor’s Embrace, Sanguivor, Blade of Zir |
| Rogue | Shroud of Khanduras, Skyhunter, The Umbracrux |
| Sorcerer | Fang of the Vipermagi, Rimeblood, Staff of Lam Esen |
| Spiritborn | Ring of the Midday Hunt, Ring of Writhing Moon |
| Paladin | Judgment of Auriel, Judicant’s Glaivehelm |
| Warlock | Dirge of Odium, Elegy, Fleshwrit Carapace |
| Multiple Classes | X’Fal’s Corroded Signet |
Zir is a strong farm when the item list lines up. His name sounds important, but the table is what matters. Diablo has plenty of dramatic villains. You need loot.
Urivar
Urivar is in Nahantu and uses a Lair Key. His table is easy to overlook, but Yen’s Blessing gives him real multi-class value.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Mantle of Mountain’s Fury, Unbroken Chain |
| Druid | Dark Howl, Dolmen Stone, Kilt of Blackwing |
| Necromancer | Gospel of the Devotee, Will of Rathma |
| Rogue | Cassia’s Grace, Windforce, Writhing Band of Trickery |
| Sorcerer | Flamescar, Iceheart Brais, Molten Band |
| Spiritborn | Band of First Breath, Sunbird’s Gorget |
| Paladin | Cathedral’s Song, Herald’s Morningstar |
| Warlock | Cowl of Malefic Torment, Infernal Homunculus, The Blade of Sight Aflame |
| Multiple Classes | Yen’s Blessing |
Urivar is the kind of boss players ignore until they suddenly need him. That is normal. Half of boss farming is realizing the “minor” boss has been holding your build’s item the whole time.
Greater Lair Boss Loot Table
Greater Lair Bosses use Greater Lair Keys and sit above the Initiate bosses. Farm them when your build can clear the fight quickly enough that the loop feels productive. A slow Greater boss farm is still a farm, but so is digging a tunnel with a spoon.
Duriel, King Of Maggots
Duriel is in the Gaping Crevasse east of Gea Kul. He deals Poison damage and still has a strong table, even if Season 14 spreads the spotlight across more bosses than older seasons did.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Dark Stalker’s Medallion, Rage of Harrogath, Sabre of Tsasgal |
| Druid | Fractured Runestone, Greenwalker’s Oath, Mark of the Old Wolf |
| Necromancer | Mutilator Plate, Path of Trag’Oul, The Undercrown |
| Rogue | Bands of Ichorous Rose, Condemnation, Sea Lord’s Fine Gloves |
| Sorcerer | Blue Rose, Galvanic Azurite, Staff of Endless Rage |
| Spiritborn | Rod of Kepeleke, Widow’s Web, Wushe Nak Pa |
| Paladin | Supplication, Ward of the White Dove |
| Warlock | Gauntlets of Sheol, Rictus of Terror, Scourge of Duriel |
| Multiple Classes | Razorplate |
Duriel is still worth respecting. He is just not the only throne in the room anymore. Farm him for his table, not because old habits have a health bar.
Andariel
Andariel is found in Hanged Man’s Hall east of Tarsarak. Her table has several strong class items, and Godslayer Crown gives her a useful multi-class reason to farm.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Ancients’ Oath, Emblem of Staalbreak, Hellhammer |
| Druid | Greenwalker’s Signet, Insatiable Fury, Storm’s Companion |
| Necromancer | Ebonpiercer, Kessime’s Legacy, Lidless Wall |
| Rogue | Assassin’s Stride, Beastfall Boots, Deathmask of Nirmitruq |
| Sorcerer | Drognan’s Anguish, Esadora’s Overflowing Cameo, Orsivane |
| Spiritborn | Craze of the Dead God, Jacinth Shell, Ring of the Midday Hunt |
| Paladin | Argent Veil, Dawnfire |
| Warlock | Anathema of the Primes, Night Terror, Scepter of the Three |
| Multiple Classes | Godslayer Crown |
Andariel is a good farm when the table fits. If the table does not fit, she is just another boss with a scary room and a chest full of things your build did not ask for.
Harbinger Of Hatred
Harbinger of Hatred is a Greater Lair Boss in Nahantu. His table is especially relevant for several expansion-era class pieces, and Temerity gives him a multi-class item players may care about.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Bane of Ahjad-Den, Nomad’s Longing Heart, Ugly Bastard Helm |
| Druid | Fleshrender, Ifeh’s Dire Totem, Might of the Ursine |
| Necromancer | Blood Wake, Pact of Bone, The Gloom Ward |
| Rogue | Etna’s Lost Dagger, Scoundrel’s Leathers, Shrouded Gift |
| Sorcerer | Flameweaver, Sidhe Bindings, Tal Rasha’s Iridescent Loop |
| Spiritborn | Protean Heart, Sepazontec |
| Paladin | Gate of the Red Dawn, Mantle of the Grey |
| Warlock | Bridle of Tor’Baalos, Spine of Tathamet, The Fecund Seal |
| Multiple Classes | Temerity |
Harbinger is worth farming if your build needs his table. Temerity adds some extra appeal, though nobody should convince themselves it solves every build problem. Sometimes more pants are just more pants.
The Butcher
The Butcher is now a Greater Lair Boss, which is funny in the way a former dungeon jump-scare getting scheduled office hours is funny. He still has his own table, and The Butcher’s Cleaver gives him a clear multi-class identity.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Chainscourged Mail, Ramaladni’s Magnum Opus, Ring of Red Furor |
| Druid | Fury of the Wilds, Heart of Azgar, Purified Lightbringer |
| Necromancer | Mace of King Leoric, Red Blessing, Vengeful Sinew |
| Rogue | Cowl of the Nameless, Fist of the Iron Rose, Scoundrel’s Kiss |
| Sorcerer | Emberfury, Shanar’s Resonance, Staff of Zerae |
| Spiritborn | Hesha e Kesungi, Path of the Emissary |
| Paladin | March of the Stalwart Soul, Red Sermon |
| Warlock | Hellbrand Signet, Lurid Pact, Moloch’s Beating Flame, Nails of the Gore-Crowned |
| Multiple Classes | The Butcher’s Cleaver |
The Butcher is worth farming when his table fits your build. If not, nostalgia is not a loot strategy. It is just a reason to get cleaved with purpose.
Belial, Astaroth, Bartuc, And Corrupted Reaper
Some Season 14 bosses do not fit neatly into the standard Initiate and Greater ladder. These are the bosses that shape the later farm: Belial for selectable tables, Astaroth for Escalating Nightmare loot, Bartuc for Infernal Hordes loot, and Corrupted Reaper for the Mythic hunt.
Belial, Lord Of Lies
Belial does not have a normal fixed loot table. When you open Belial’s Hoard, you choose another boss’s loot table. That makes him one of the most valuable bosses in Season 14 once you have Betrayer’s Husks and a build strong enough to handle the fight.
| Belial Feature | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Selectable loot table | You can choose another boss’s drops when opening his Hoard. |
| Requires Betrayer’s Husk | Earned from Belial Ambush encounters. |
| Strong Mythic value | Better high-end farming than most regular Lair Bosses. |
| Best use | Choose the table with your most important target Unique. |
Belial lies as a profession, but his farm is surprisingly honest: pick the table you want, kill the boss, open the Hoard, and hope the loot does not develop a sense of irony.
Astaroth
Astaroth is tied to Escalating Nightmares and Escalation Sigils. He is not a casual background farm, but his table matters if your class has a key item here.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Battle Trance, Hooves of the Mountain God, The Third Blade |
| Druid | Dirge of Airidah, Mad Wolf’s Glee, Wildheart Hunger |
| Necromancer | Blood Moon Breeches, Bloodless Scream, Ring of the Sacrilegious Soul |
| Rogue | Asheara’s Khanjar, Eyes in the Dark, Gladiator’s Triumph |
| Sorcerer | Esu’s Heirloom, Fractured Winterglass, Hail of Verglas |
| Spiritborn | Echo of Kwatli, Ring of the Midnight Sun, Rod of Kepeleke |
| Paladin | Griswold’s Opus, Herald of Zakarum |
| Warlock | Bindings of Attrition, Footfalls of the Waning World, Hecaton Chasm, Litany of Sable |
| Multiple Classes | Crown of Lucion |
Astaroth is worth farming if you are already running Escalating Nightmares or if his table has your target. If not, do not let the name fool you. A big boss with the wrong table is still the wrong boss.
Need the key path first? Use the Diablo 4 Escalation Sigils guide.
Bartuc
Bartuc is tied to Infernal Hordes and becomes available through that activity’s Aether system. His table matters for several class builds, and Azurewrath gives him a strong multi-class reason to farm.
| Class | Dedicated Drops |
|---|---|
| Barbarian | Arreat’s Bearing, The Open Eye of Gorgorra, Tuskhelm of Joritz the Mighty |
| Druid | Earthbreaker, Khamsin Steppewalkers, Mjölnic Ryng |
| Necromancer | Gravewalker’s Hand, Omen of Pain, The Unmaker |
| Rogue | Grasp of Shadow, Misericorde, Word of Hakan |
| Sorcerer | Axial Conduit, Ophidian Iris, Raiment of the Infinite |
| Spiritborn | Harmony of Ebewaka, Loyalty’s Mantle |
| Paladin | Arcadia, Sundered Night |
| Warlock | Eye of Baal, Hand of Apotheosis, Sashes of the Wretched, The Hemat Stone |
| Multiple Classes | Azurewrath |
Bartuc is excellent if you like Infernal Hordes or need his table. If you dislike Hordes, farming him can feel like being assigned chores by a demon with better lighting.
Corrupted Reaper
The Corrupted Reaper is Season 14’s Superior Lair Boss and the main Mythic-focused endgame target. She is unlocked through the seasonal chain involving Pandemonium Ruptures, Realmwalkers, Deathtoll Chambers, and Superior Lair Keys.
| Reward Type | Why It Matters |
|---|---|
| Mythic Uniques | Best direct Mythic chase in Season 14. |
| Pandemonium Fragments | Used for Mythic crafting. |
| Ancestral Uniques | Strong endgame gear path. |
| Runes and materials | Useful for long-term build investment. |
Corrupted Reaper is not the boss I would rush on a half-built character. She is the tower at the end of the road. Arrive ready, or she will turn your health globe into a memory.
Best Bosses For Mythic Uniques
The best Mythic Unique boss in Season 14 is the Corrupted Reaper. Belial is the next major target because he combines a strong high-end reward profile with selectable boss loot tables. All Lair Bosses can drop Mythics, but those two are the bosses to care about most when Mythics are the main goal.
For most players, the better strategy is to farm a boss that also drops normal Uniques your build needs. A failed Mythic roll feels a lot better when the Hoard can still give you a useful class item. A failed Mythic roll from a boss with nothing else for your build is just disappointment wearing a legendary border.
- Farm Corrupted Reaper if your build can handle her and you have Superior Lair Keys.
- Farm Belial if you have Betrayer’s Husks and want to choose a specific boss table.
- Farm your dedicated boss if you still need class Uniques.
- Use other bosses for Mythic chances only when their normal table also helps you.
The Mythic chase is already long. Do not make it longer by farming the wrong boss because “anything can happen.” Anything can happen is not a farming plan. It is what people say before bad decisions.
Common Lair Boss Farming Mistakes
The biggest Lair Boss farming mistake is farming bosses without checking the loot table first. It sounds obvious, but half of bad Diablo farming is just confidence wearing the wrong boots.
- Do not farm boss names. Farm item tables.
- Do not chase general-pool Uniques through random boss spam when the Horadric Cube can target the slot better.
- Do not spend Belial materials unless you know which boss table you are choosing.
- Do not rush Corrupted Reaper on a weak build just because Mythics sound nice.
- Do not keep farming a boss after your build has moved past the item you wanted.
- Do not ignore backup drops. A boss with two useful items is usually better than a boss with one dream drop.
The cleanest farming plan is boring in the best way: know the item, know the boss, farm the boss, stop when the upgrade no longer matters. The messy plan is killing whatever boss you have keys for and hoping the loot system develops empathy. It will not.
The Farm I’d Actually Run
If I were planning a Season 14 boss farm, I would not start by asking which boss is best. I would open the build, write down the two or three Uniques that actually matter, and farm the boss tables that cover the most needs at once.
If the item is class-specific, farm its dedicated Lair Boss. If the item is a general-pool piece like Tibault’s Will, use the Horadric Cube instead of pretending one random boss has become your personal pants supplier. If you have Betrayer’s Husks, use Belial to choose the table you already care about. If your build is strong enough and Mythics are the priority, move toward Corrupted Reaper.
That is the rhythm of the ladder. Kill the boss with your item. Use Belial when you want more control. Use the Cube when the item has no throne of its own. Save Corrupted Reaper for the Mythic hunt. Everything else is noise, and Diablo 4 has never been short on noise.
