How Many Players Can Play Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap?
Wondering if you have to take on the orc horde alone, or if you can drag some friends into the chaos? Good news—you can do both, playing by yourself or with up to four players. Read on for some more information about the differences.
Solo Mode: Can You Survive Alone?
Yes. And honestly, it’s not that bad. The game works perfectly fine for solo players, and some people have cleared multiple rounds without dying. If you like full control over trap placement and strategy, playing alone is actually a good time.
Of course, you’re also responsible for everything. No backup, no distractions—just you, your traps, and the occasional moment of panic when something doesn’t die fast enough.
Multiplayer: More Players, More Orcs
Co-op supports up to 4 players, which means more traps, more firepower, and way more orcs. Bigger maps become easier to control, and if you actually communicate, you can set up insane kill zones.
But there’s a catch. The game scales enemy difficulty based on the number of players. So more teammates? More orcs. And if your friends have questionable trap placement skills, expect some frustration.
Which One Should You Pick?
Solo is great if you like control and don’t trust anyone else with your perfect setup.
Co-op is a blast if you enjoy total chaos and watching orcs explode with friends.
Both work. Both are fun. The real question is: Do you want to fight the orcs alone or with teammates who may—or may not—actually help?
Either way, the goal is the same: Trap everything. Kill everything. Keep the rift closed. Now get out there and start ruining some orcs' day.
