Maybe you picked a name in Smite 2 that you thought was cool at 3 AM, and now you regret it. Or maybe you just want a fresh start. Either way, here’s a super quick guide on how to change your name in Smite 2:

How to Change Your Name in Smite 2

Essentially you just need to change your name on Steam:

  1. Go to Options > Settings – You know, the place where all the mysterious toggles live.

  2. Find the UI Tab – Because for some reason, your name is a user interface problem.

  3. Turn “Use Legacy Name” OFF – This should make your new Steam name show up.

  4. Restart Smite 2 – If it still doesn’t update, close Steam too and try again.

If you plan on playing on Console you would need to have a new profile made or find some way to change your PSN/Xbox username.

Still Not Working?

  • Wait a bit – Some players reported it takes a while to update. Smite 2 apparently enjoys suspense.

  • Try Again Later – Maybe it just needs some time to process your identity crisis.

Now Go Forth with Your New Identity

Congratulations, you’re no longer stuck with your bad life choices from the name screen. Now get back in the fight and try not to change it again next week.
