If you want to save whenever you please, you’re going to need Saviour Schnapps. Think of it as medieval quicksave juice. You can buy it, loot it, or make it yourself—so let’s break it down.
How to Get Saviour Schnapps
Buy It
Many merchants and herbalists sell it, though stock is limited. If you find a shopkeeper selling it, grab a few bottles while you can.
Loot It
Some enemies carry it, so after a fight, check their pockets. You might find schnapps, Groschen, or just disappointment.
Make It Yourself
If you don’t want to rely on stores or enemy loot, you can brew Saviour Schnapps at an Alchemy Table. It takes a little effort, but once you have the recipe, you can make as much as you need.
How to Craft Saviour Schnapps
If you like the idea of mixing herbs like some kind of medieval bartender, you’ll be happy to know that crafting Saviour Schnapps is an option. You’ll get the recipe early in the game after a quest involving Bozhena and Pavlena, and once you have it, you can brew schnapps anytime—assuming you have the right ingredients.
Ingredients
1x Nettle (easier to find than a sober peasant)
2x Belladonna (a little trickier, but worth the effort)
Wine (because schnapps without alcohol is just fancy herbal tea)
How to Brew Saviour Schnapps
Pour wine into the cauldron. Because wine makes everything better.
Crush 2 handfuls of Belladonna with a mortar and pestle. Don’t put it in the cauldron yet!
Throw the Nettle directly into the cauldron. Let it get nice and soaked.
Boil for two turns of the hourglass. Then remove it from heat.
Add the crushed Belladonna to the cauldron. Now it’s time.
Boil again for one turn of the hourglass. Then take it off the heat.
Pour the potion into a phial. Congratulations, you now have a bottle of life-saving schnapps.
Final Blurb
As your Alchemy skill improves, you’ll get more potions per brew and better-quality schnapps.
If you mess up the process, Henry might complain, but hey—at least you tried.
Having a steady supply of Saviour Schnapps means fewer rage-quits and lost progress. Stock up!
Now get brewing, because nothing ruins an adventure faster than forgetting to save.
