How to Unlock and Use Fast Travel Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Walking everywhere in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is great… if you enjoy spending hours watching your character slowly make his way across medieval Bohemia. But for the rest of us, there's fast travel. It’s not instant, and it comes with a few quirks, but it’s still better than hoofing it everywhere. Here’s a quick guide on how to do it.
How to Unlock Fast Travel
Before you can teleport around like some kind of 15th-century wizard, you need to unlock fast travel points. These are marked on your map with a blue shield icon featuring a wagon wheel. To unlock one, you must first visit that location on foot or horseback. Once you’ve been there, you can fast travel to it anytime.
How to Use Fast Travel
Open the Map – Press ‘M’ on PC or Up on the D-pad if using a controller.
Pick a Destination – Select a blue shield icon in a town you’ve already visited.
Confirm Travel – Click on it, and Henry will start his journey, following the main roads.
Sounds easy, right? Well, hold on. There are a few things to watch out for.
Things to Keep in Mind
Time Still Passes – Henry will get tired and hungry during fast travel. He’s not teleporting, just moving really efficiently. Make sure he’s well-fed and rested beforehand.
Random Encounters Happen – Just because you’re fast traveling doesn’t mean you’re safe. Bandits, traders, or weird side quests can pop up along the way. Stay ready.
Carrying Too Much? No Travel for You – If Henry is over-encumbered, he won’t be able to fast travel. So maybe don’t try to carry 15 full sets of armor at once.
Fast Traveling Between Regions
If you need to move between large regions, look for red carriage icons on the map. These are travel hubs where you can pay a small fee (usually around 200 Groschen) to get a ride. Think of it like medieval Uber, but with more horse smell.
Final Blurb
Fast travel saves time, but it’s not a free pass to ignore the world. Plan ahead, keep Henry in shape, and don’t be surprised if your “quick trip” turns into an ambush. But hey, at least it’s faster than walking.
