This guide will show you how to level your Magic skill from 1 to 99 (or 120) in a simple and easy way for RuneScape 3 (RS3). Let’s dive in!

Before You Start

1. Gear You’ll Need

  • Armor:

    • Use anything you can afford early on.

    • At level 60, switch to Lunar Armor for more damage.

    • At level 86, you can use Tank Armor with the Animate Dead spell to become very tough.

  • Weapons:

    • Use the best staff or magic weapon you can afford.

    • It doesn’t matter if it’s two-handed or dual-wield—just pick what’s cheaper for your level.

2. Spells

  • Air Spells: Use these at early levels since they don’t require many runes.

  • Blood Spells: These heal you while damaging enemies. Unlock them through the Desert Treasure quest.

  • Animate Dead: This makes you super tanky when paired with Tank Armor. Unlock it through the City of Senntisten quest.

3. Helpful Items

  • Salve Amulet: Boosts your damage and accuracy against undead monsters.

  • Vampyrism Aura: Heals you for a percentage of the damage you deal.

  • Aggression Potions: Makes monsters attack you automatically, so you can train faster.

Leveling Guide

Levels 1–30: Trolls

  • Where: Burthorpe Troll Invasion area.

  • What to Do:

    • Use Air Spells to kill trolls.

    • These monsters are weak and perfect for starting out.

Levels 30–40: Wilderness Zombies

  • Where: Northeast of the Wilderness Lodestone.

  • What to Do:

    • Use Fire Spells since zombies are weak to fire.

    • Equip a Salve Amulet for extra damage.

    • Zombies are aggressive, so you can AFK while they attack you.

Levels 40–50: Forthos Zombies

  • Where: North of Fort Forinthry.

  • What to Do:

    • Use Air Spells and bring food or healing gear like Vampyrism Aura.

    • These zombies hit harder than Wilderness Zombies, so Protection Prayers might help.

Levels 50–70: Bloodvelds, Ankou, or Ogres

  • Option 1: Bloodvelds:

    • Where: Slayer Tower (requires level 50 Slayer).

    • What to Do: Use Fire Spells or Blood Spells for healing.

  • Option 2: Ankou:

    • Where: Stronghold of Security.

    • What to Do: Use a Salve Amulet and any spells you like.

  • Option 3: Ogres:

    • Where: West of Yanille Lodestone.

    • What to Do: Use Air Spells if you don’t have Slayer levels.

Levels 70–80: Abyss or Exiled Kalphites

  • Option 1: Abyss:

    • Where: North of Edgeville (use the Zamorak Mage to teleport in).

    • What to Do: Use Blood Spells to heal yourself while fighting Abyss creatures.

  • Option 2: Exiled Kalphites:

    • Where: Kalphite King’s Lair.

    • What to Do: Use Water Spells. This method gives good XP and charm drops.

Levels 80–99 (or 120): Abyssal Demons or Corrupted Creatures

  • Option 1: Abyssal Demons (requires 85 Slayer):

    • Where: Wilderness Obelisk, level 17.

    • What to Do: AFK them using Blood Spells for healing.

  • Option 2: Corrupted Creatures (requires 88 Slayer):

    • Where: Sophanem Slayer Dungeon.

    • What to Do: Use Feathers of Ma'at to kill Corrupted Scorpions or Scarabs for great XP.

  • Option 3: Revenant Ghouls:

    • Where: Northwest of Canifis Lodestone.

    • What to Do: Fight actively for high XP, or stay at the Abyss if you prefer AFK training.

Final Tips

  • Upgrade Your Gear: Focus on better weapons first, as they improve your damage the most.

  • Switch Spells as Needed: Use Blood Spells or Animate Dead for tougher fights.

  • Don’t Rush: If higher-level enemies are too tough, stay at lower-level ones until you’re ready.

With this guide, you’ll level up your Magic skill quickly and efficiently. Good luck, and enjoy casting your way to 99!
