OSRS Grid Master Shooting Stars Mining Guide
Mining in Grid Master can be painful early on, but Shooting Stars are one of the few ways to train without fighting over rocks. They’re slower than Leagues spawns but still solid XP once you know where to look.
How Shooting Stars Work in Grid Master
Shooting Stars work exactly the same as in normal OSRS. A star crashes somewhere in Gielinor every two hours, and players can mine it for Stardust. The Stardust can be traded at Dusuri’s Star Shop for Mining XP lamps, soft clay packs, or the Celestial ring.
In Grid Master, all worlds share the same event balance, so stars follow the regular respawn timers. They’re not boosted like in past Leagues, which makes competition higher than usual. Most spawns on Grid Master worlds are packed, but the XP and AFK factor make them worth chasing.
Best Shooting Star Locations
The best strategy is world hopping between the less crowded spawns. Members worlds are easier since fewer people camp there compared to F2P zones.
Common Star Spawn Locations
Mining Guild
Fossil Island
Rellekka
Prifddinas
Feldip Hills
Great Kourend
Mount Karuulm
If you’re F2P, Falador and the Mining Guild are the most consistent spawns, though they’re usually busy. You can track live star locations using the 07.gg Shooting Star tracker.
Recommended Setup
You don’t need special relics for Shooting Stars, but a few help a lot.
Gatherer relics to boost passive XP gain and resource speed
Production Prodigy if you plan to smith or craft after mining
Golden God for infinite alchs if you want extra GP while AFKing nearby
Bring a rune or dragon pickaxe for efficiency. You can also use the Celestial ring from Dusuri for a small invisible Mining boost.
Tips for Easier XP
Hop to off-peak worlds or lower player count servers to find open stars
Join a Shooting Stars world tracker on Discord to follow real-time spawns
Focus on stars in remote regions like Feldip or Karuulm to avoid crowds
Combine with AFK relics or echo passives from Combat Masteries if you’re multitasking
The XP isn’t as fast as active Mining, but the AFK time makes it great while training other skills.
Final Blurb
Shooting Stars are the chill side of Grid Master Mining. Even with normal respawn speeds, they’re a break from crowded rocks and an easy way to rack up Stardust and passive XP. If you’re tired of click-fighting over mithril veins, find a quiet world and let the stars handle your grind.
