OSRS Salvaging Station & All Locations Guide
Old School RuneScape (OSRS)

Sorting your sea loot just got easier. The Salvaging Station is one of the most important Sailing facilities in Old School RuneScape, letting you process all that junk you haul up from the ocean without ever leaving your ship.

How the Salvaging Station Works

A Salvaging Station is where you break down the random materials and treasures you find while salvaging shipwrecks. You can use it both at land-based stations and on your own boat once you’ve installed the facility. Interacting with the station opens the “Sort-Salvage” option, where items in your inventory can be processed for resources or crafting materials.

You can’t assign crew to it, but it’s one of the most useful setups for long voyages, especially if you spend hours salvaging mid-sea without returning to port.

How to Build a Salvaging Station on Your Ship

To unlock it, you’ll first need to obtain and read the Salvaging Station schematic, which is tied to the Sailing lockbox progression. Once unlocked, you can build it aboard your ship with the following requirements.

Building Requirements

  • 42 Sailing

  • 34 Construction

  • 4 Teak planks

  • 16 Steel nails

You’ll need to use a workbench aboard your ship or docked at a port. Building it grants Construction XP and adds the permanent facility to that vessel.

Having a Salvaging Station onboard saves time between hauls since you can instantly sort materials instead of making constant port trips.

Salvaging Station Locations on Land

You can also find Salvaging Stations at ports and key sea hubs. These function just like the one you can build on your ship. Current known locations include:

  • Pandemonium (main Sailing hub)

  • Port Sarim docks area

  • Deepfin Point and other high-level mooring points

  • Barracuda Trials hub during events

More stations may appear as new ports or expansions roll out.

Why It’s Worth Building Early

Installing a Salvaging Station early helps you stay efficient at sea. You can sort junk, free inventory space, store blurbs, and keep hauling without heading back to port. It’s also a good way to progress Construction while improving your ship’s overall utility.

Since it requires only teak and steel nails, it’s cheap enough to build even on lower-level ships like skiffs or sloops.

Final Blurb

The Salvaging Station is a must-have for anyone serious about Sailing. Build one early, use it often, and your ship will never run out of room for loot. It’s the perfect mid-sea quality-of-life upgrade that keeps your voyages smooth and your cargo clean.
