PEAK How to Climb Game Guide

PEAK How to Climb

Written by Jason B.

Climbing in the game PEAK is simple on the surface but takes real focus to do well. This guide explains how to actually climb, use tools, and avoid common mistakes on your way up the mountain.

Core Climbing Controls

Basic climbing movement

Hold Left Click to grip any wall or surface.
Move your camera with the mouse to choose your direction.

Lunge upward

Hold Shift while climbing to lunge up quickly.
This uses stamina fast, so time it well.

Use jump carefully

Tap Spacebar to jump.
You can sometimes reach a ledge by spamming jump right after a lunge, but it is risky and burns stamina.

Helping During Climbs

Use Helping Hand

Hold Right Click near a teammate to lift or pull them.
This works best when one player is already secure above.

Share gear

Pass food or gear to lighten your backpack.
Less weight means slower stamina drain while climbing.

Head bounce trick

You can stand on a teammate’s head and jump off it to get extra height.
Works best when coordinated in co-op.

Useful Climbing Gear

Rope Cannon

Fires a rope upward that you can climb.
The rope is short, so don’t aim too high or it may not help.

Chain Launcher

Creates a chain bridge across a gap.
Use this when you need distance, not height.

Climbing Smarter, Not Harder

Don’t always go up

Sometimes the best route is sideways or even downward.
Explore around cliffs instead of forcing straight up.

Rest and eat on flat spots

Always stop on level ground when cooking, eating, or dropping items.
Sloped surfaces can slide your gear or your body right off the edge.

Test unknown food in safe spots

Some food poisons you. Try new ones where falling won’t kill you.
Campfires or ditches are the safest spots to experiment.

Use Tenderfoot to learn paths

Switch to Tenderfoot mode at the airport kiosk to turn off fog.
This helps with exploring and learning the layout without pressure.

Use revive statues

Statues appear at the end of each section.
Interact with one to revive teammates, but they return with slightly reduced stamina.

Final Blurb

Climbing in PEAK requires you to stay calm, reading the terrain, and knowing when to risk it.

Use the tools, keep your stamina up, and remember that sometimes going sideways saves lives.
