In Reanimal, only 1 player needs to own the full game to play online co op using the Friend Pass system. The second player can download the demo version and join the host through an online code or platform invite. How Co Op Works In Reanimal

At the start of the game, player 1 controls the boy alone for a short intro section. Player 2 joins shortly after when the girl is rescued. That delay is normal.

To use Friend Pass:
Player 1 must own the full version of Reanimal.

Player 1 selects Co Op from the main menu.
Choose Host Online.
Share the 5 character lobby code with Player 2, or send a platform invite.
Player 2 selects Join Online and enters the code, or accepts the invite.
Once connected, the host plays as the boy. The friend joins as the girl.
That is it. The demo acts as the access key for online co op when only 1 player owns the game.
