How to Use the Tranq Gun in R.E.P.O.

If you’ve ever looked at a monster and thought, What if that thing just… stopped trying to murder me for a bit?, then the Tranq Gun is your new best friend. This handy little sleep dispenser knocks creatures out cold—temporarily. It’s non-lethal, which is great if you care about that sort of thing. If not, well, at least it buys you time to escape, reload, or question why you signed up for this job in the first place.

How It Works

Shoot, Pray, and Run

  • Aim at the creature currently ruining your day.

  • Fire a dart. If it connects, bedtime starts immediately.

  • If it doesn’t? Hope you have a backup plan.

Enjoy the Temporary Peace

  • Once hit, the target will get groggy, stumble around, and then thud—nap time.

  • Sleep duration varies, but it’s long enough for you to get out of dodge.

  • Use this time wisely. Or don’t. Just don’t stand there admiring your work for too long.

Wake-Up Calls Are Brutal

  • Monsters don’t wake up refreshed. They wake up angry.

  • If you’re still around when it regains consciousness, that’s on you.

When to Use It

  • When a monster is too close – Because a sleeping enemy is better than a biting one.

  • When you need a breather – Use the downtime to reload, regroup, or regret your career choices.

  • When you’re feeling non-violent – Maybe you don’t have to blast everything into oblivion. Maybe.

At $17K, the Tranq Gun isn’t cheap, but neither is getting torn apart by something with too many teeth. Fire wisely, move fast, and remember: nap time always ends.
