Raiding another player's base in ROB RUN can be extremely profitable, but getting inside is only part of the challenge. You'll need the right equipment, an understanding of building security, and enough preparation to escape before the owner regains control of their property.

How to Raid a Base in ROB RUN
To raid another player's base in ROB RUN, you need to use a Decoder on the building's Security System. Once you've reduced its defense enough to complete the hack, you'll gain temporary access to the building and can attempt to steal the valuables stored inside.
Here's how to perform a base raid:
- Find another player's base and locate the Security System on the building you want to enter.
- Bring at least one Decoder, with additional Decoders if the building has stronger defenses.
- Interact with the Security System and use your Decoder to reduce its defense.
- Continue breaching the system until the hack is complete and access is granted.
- Enter the building, collect accessible valuables, and leave before the owner repairs the Security System.
The biggest limitation is that a successful breach doesn't give you permanent access. The building's owner can repair the Security System and lock you out again, which means spending too long searching for valuables can ruin an otherwise successful raid.
It's also important to understand that hacking one building doesn't automatically unlock every structure on the property. If a base contains multiple secured buildings, gaining access to one doesn't mean you can enter the others without additional breaches.
What Equipment Do You Need to Raid in ROB RUN?
Decoders are the main requirement for raiding buildings. They're disposable tools that reduce a Security System's defense by a specific amount, known as Breaching. Each use consumes the Decoder, so attempting a heavily protected base without enough equipment can leave you unable to finish the hack.
ROB RUN has different Decoder rarities, with the following confirmed Breaching values:
| Decoder | Breaching | Availability |
|---|---|---|
| Uncommon | 1 | Season 1 Battle Pass reward |
| Epic | 3 | Lenny's barter trader |
| Legendary | Not confirmed | No confirmed acquisition method |
An Epic Decoder takes 12 seconds to use and provides 3 Breaching, making it useful against stronger Security Systems. However, each Fuse installed by the base owner adds defense, so there's no universal number of Decoders that guarantees entry into every building.
Where to Get Decoders for Raiding
You can obtain an Uncommon Decoder through the free reward on page 3 of the Season 1: Pure Chemistry Battle Pass, available until December 4, 2026.
For Epic Decoders, travel to Lenny's Motel and locate the Suspicious Door on the right side of the interior. The barter trader behind it offers two exchange recipes:
- 3 Uncommon Decoders and $10,000 Cash for 1 Epic Decoder.
- 1 filled Epic Action Camera for 1 Epic Decoder.
The first exchange is useful when you've already collected Uncommon Decoders, but remember that three Uncommon versions provide the same combined Breaching value as one Epic. The additional $10,000 consolidates that Breaching into a single item rather than increasing the total amount.

What Can You Steal During a ROB RUN Raid?
Raiding can give you access to another player's stored goods and equipment, making established bases potentially valuable targets. However, successfully breaking through a Security System doesn't mean every container, vehicle, or piece of property becomes yours.
ROB RUN separates building access from several other forms of ownership and security:
| Target | What You Need |
|---|---|
| Secured building | Decoder to breach its Security System |
| Another player's safe | Master Key |
| Vehicle trunk | Lockpick from the Black Market |
| Entire land plot | Separate Eviction Right mechanic |
This distinction is particularly important when deciding what equipment to bring. If your objective is stealing something from a safe, a Decoder alone won't complete the job. You'll need the appropriate Master Key as well.
Vehicle trunks can be opened with Lockpicks, including those belonging to police vehicles, but accessing a trunk doesn't transfer ownership of the vehicle itself.
Can You Take Over Someone's Entire Base?
Ordinary Decoder raids provide temporary building access rather than permanently transferring property ownership. ROB RUN has a separate Eviction Right system for removing another player's land ownership.
An Eviction Right can be obtained through a substantial barter requiring 50 Epic Decoders. It is used on the Plot Plan after every Security System on the property has been fully hacked.
This is a much larger undertaking than simply entering a building and stealing stored valuables. Unless you're specifically pursuing property eviction, it's better to think of a normal raid as an opportunity to take loot rather than acquire an entire base.
How to Raid Successfully Without Wasting Decoders
The biggest mistake when raiding in ROB RUN is treating every occupied base as a profitable opportunity. Decoders have limited availability, the equipment needed for each building can vary, and completing a breach doesn't guarantee you'll escape with anything valuable. Before committing to a target, consider what the raid might earn compared to the resources and equipment you're putting at risk.
Calculate Whether the Breach Is Worth Your Decoders
A building's Security System determines how much Breaching is required to enter. Since Fuses increase defense, a well-protected structure may require substantially more equipment than a lightly secured building. Without knowing the target's exact defenses, you shouldn't assume a single Decoder will be enough.
Consider a building that requires 3 Breaching. You could theoretically meet that requirement using three Uncommon Decoders or one Epic Decoder. However, converting three Uncommon Decoders into an Epic costs an additional $10,000, despite providing the same combined Breaching value.
The Epic version concentrates that Breaching into one use, which may be more convenient during a raid, but it isn't automatically the more economical option. If your goal is simply getting through a weaker Security System, spending extra money on the exchange could be unnecessary.
There's also a difference between successfully breaching a building and making the raid profitable. If you've spent several valuable Decoders entering a property only to find inexpensive goods, the resources consumed may outweigh anything you've gained.
For that reason, I'd prioritize targets where you have a reasonable expectation of finding useful loot rather than choosing buildings solely because they appear expensive from the outside.
Make Sure You Can Actually Access Your Intended Loot
Entering a building and opening everything inside it are two different challenges. A Decoder handles the building's Security System, but another player's safe requires a Master Key. Similarly, accessing a vehicle trunk requires a Lockpick, while claiming an entire property involves the separate Eviction Right system.
Imagine spending your last Epic Decoder entering a building because you want the contents of a locked safe. If you don't have a Master Key, you'll still be unable to open that safe despite successfully completing the breach.
This is why identifying your intended reward matters before preparing your equipment. If you're raiding for stored goods that can be collected directly, a Decoder may be all you need for entry. If you're specifically targeting secured containers, make sure you've brought the additional tools required.
Planning around what you intend to take can prevent you from consuming rare equipment on a raid that cannot accomplish your objective.
Prepare Your Inventory and Escape Before Hacking
A successful hack only provides temporary building access. The owner can repair the Security System and revoke that access, so valuable time spent organizing your inventory after entering the property can quickly become a problem.
Before beginning, make room for the items you hope to steal and decide how you'll transport them away from the base. If you're carrying unnecessary equipment or your inventory is already nearly full, you may be forced to abandon useful loot simply because you didn't prepare properly.
Having a vehicle nearby can help with transportation, but you should also consider whether your escape route leaves you exposed to defenders or other players. ROB RUN's multiplayer encounters are unpredictable, and the owner isn't necessarily the only person who might interfere with your raid.
When playing with friends, splitting responsibilities can make the process smoother. One player can focus on breaching the Security System while the others prepare to collect valuables and monitor the surrounding area. Parties support up to three players, making smaller coordinated raids possible without organizing an entire clan.
Know When to Abandon a Raid
One of the most useful raiding decisions is recognizing when an attempt is no longer worth continuing. If you've already consumed valuable Decoders without completing the breach, pushing further may only increase your losses. Likewise, remaining inside a building after collecting worthwhile loot exposes you to the possibility of defenders returning and cutting off your access.
It's tempting to keep searching when you know additional valuables could be nearby, but the potential reward needs to justify the risk of losing everything you're already carrying. Death outside Looty Bay can cost your entire carried inventory and equipment, making an unsuccessful escape particularly expensive.
A good raid doesn't require emptying every container or taking every valuable item on the property. Securing a worthwhile amount of loot and leaving before the situation becomes dangerous can be more profitable than turning one successful breach into an unnecessary fight.
How to Protect Your Base From Raids in ROB RUN
Understanding how raiding works is also useful when you're defending your own property. Attackers need to overcome your Security System before gaining access, which gives you several opportunities to make a breach more expensive or difficult.
Use Fuses to Increase Building Defense
Fuses are one of the most important defensive upgrades because they increase the defense of your Security System. The more defense a building has, the more Breaching attackers need to complete the hack.
This makes Fuses particularly valuable for buildings containing expensive production equipment or stored resources. They're not guaranteed to prevent a determined raid, but forcing attackers to spend additional Decoders can make your base a less attractive target.
The Tier I Fuse costs $20,000 after completing $10,000 worth of research. Higher-tier defenses can provide additional protection, although they require considerably more investment.
Fuses also survive successful hacks, so an attacker breaching your Security System doesn't automatically destroy the defensive upgrades you've installed.
Repair Your Security System to Remove Intruder Access
If someone successfully breaches your building, repairing the Security System allows you to revoke their temporary access. This is an important advantage because defenders aren't required to defeat every attacker in combat before securing the building again.
Defense modules can also alert allies when an attack begins, providing an opportunity for other players to respond. These systems become especially useful when your base contains valuable goods or when you regularly play with a trusted group.
It's also worth being careful about who you allow near your property. Players can impersonate friendly visitors or claim to be associated with settlement ownership, so don't assume someone is trustworthy simply because they approach your base without immediately attacking.
Protect Your Savings Separately From Your Stored Goods
Physical valuables stored at a base can become targets during raids, but money successfully laundered into your bank account cannot be stolen by other players.
To use this protection, open an account at Looty Bay Bank as a Civilian and process your dirty cash through the Laundering Desk at your base. Laundering takes time, but completed bank deposits are protected from theft during the current server cycle.
This doesn't protect your money from the weekly Federal Raid, which resets banked funds alongside other accumulated wealth. However, it can prevent another player's successful base raid from costing you the cash you've already secured.
Ultimately, successful raiding in ROB RUN comes down to understanding exactly what your equipment can unlock and whether the potential rewards justify the resources you're spending. A Decoder gets you through a building's Security System, but choosing the right target, bringing the correct tools, and leaving before the owner responds determine whether that breach turns into a profitable raid.
