Hiring a botanist in Schedule I is one of the smartest moves you can make—right behind not storing all your green next to an open flame. These plant-loving employees handle the growing process for you, making it possible to scale your operation while you focus on bigger things.
Here’s a quick, step-by-step guide to using a botanist like a boss.

Step 1: Hire Your Botanist
You can hire workers after 6 p.m. from the building just across Taco Tickler. Head up the stairs inside and talk to Manny.
Botanists cost $1,500 upfront and $200 per day (cash only).
Choose where you want to assign them. Some locations allow more employees than others.
Step 2: Assign Their Bed
Once they arrive, stand near them and press 9
to open your clipboard, then hit E
on the botanist.
Click to assign them a bed.
This is where they rest and where you’ll drop off their daily wages in a briefcase.
Step 3: Set Up Supplies
Next, assign a supply shelf with:
Soil
Seeds
That’s it. Botanists come pre-equipped with clippers, so no tools needed.
Step 4: Assign Grow Pots
Click the pencil icon to assign up to 8 grow pots (6 minimum if that’s all you’ve got).
Use your clipboard to select each grow kit you want them to manage.
More pots = more product, so scale up when you can.
Step 5: Set Pot Recipes
Walk up to each grow pot and hit E
to:
Choose a seed strain (like Granddaddy Perp)
Optionally select additives
Set a destination shelf for harvested product
If you don’t assign a destination, the botanist might figure it out. But to play it safe, choose a storage shelf so your hard-earned crop doesn’t disappear into the void.

Bonus Tips
You don’t need to use drying racks. The botanist skips them unless you assign one.
Make sure you keep their supplies stocked—no seeds, no grow.
Pay their wages regularly or they’ll stop working (and possibly go on strike… silently).
Final Blurb
Botanists in Schedule I are low-maintenance, high-value employees. Once you assign their bed, supplies, and pots, they’ll handle your grow op like a true horticultural hero. Just remember to feed them soil, seeds, and cash—and your plants will never go thirsty again.
