Schedule 1: Controls Guide

Note: This guide covers content from Schedule 1, a satirical video game set in a fictional world. All items, recipes, and references are entirely made up and exist only in the game. Please don’t try any of this in real life.
You can build a empire with one hand on the keyboard and the other in a bag of chips—if you actually know the controls. Here’s a full breakdown of what every button does, how to move furniture, and why you can’t just drop that busted lamp you regret buying.

Movement and Sneaky Business
Your standard WASD setup is how you move. W moves forward, A and D let you strafe, and S walks you backwards like you’re backing out of a bad deal.
Spacebar to jump, which is useful for vaulting things or just spamming while sprinting to go faster like you’re playing a dollar store Mirror’s Edge.
Shift makes you sprint—either by holding it or toggling, depending on your settings.
Control makes you crouch, which makes you harder to spot and turns the edges of your screen all shadowy and dramatic.
Your Toolkit
Tab brings up your phone, and you’ll be using this a lot. From here you can sell product, text customers, check the map, and manage your operation.
F to turn on your flashlight.
M also opens the map if you’re not using the phone.
T to check texts quickly.
J to open your journal for active deliveries or missions.
V to switch to third-person view—but only as long as you’re holding it.
How to Interact With the World
E is your catch-all key for talking, picking stuff up, using furniture, and pretty much everything else. If you can touch it, E probably does something.
Hold right-click to move furniture or objects. It’ll go into your inventory as long as there’s an open slot and nothing’s stored inside it. If it’s full (like a trash can with actual trash), empty it first.
How to Drop or Discard Items
You can’t drop items on the ground in Schedule 1. If you’re holding something and want to get rid of it, your only option is to destroy it permanently.
Here’s how:
Press Tab to open your phone
In the bottom-right corner, there’s a red Discard box
Drag the item from your inventory into that box
It’ll disappear after a second—gone forever, no backsies
Use with caution. Once it’s gone, it’s not coming back.
Can You Rebind Controls?
Yes, thankfully. If a key isn’t working for you or your muscle memory is built around another game, you can remap just about anything.
Open the Settings menu (press Escape in-game or from the main menu)
Go to the Controls tab
Click on the control you want to change, and press your new key
You can tweak movement, UI, inventory access, and more.
Final Blurb
It’s hard to grow a empire if you don’t even know how to open your journal. Once you’ve got the keys down, the rest is just running errands, bagging stuff, and avoiding cops. Schedule 1 doesn’t hold your hand—but your keyboard does all the heavy lifting. Learn it, use it, and maybe stop pressing Tab by accident while running from the police.
