Schedule 1 Optimization Guide

Note: This guide covers content from Schedule 1, a satirical video game set in a fictional world. All items, recipes, and references are entirely made up and exist only in the game. Please don’t try any of this in real life!
Schedule 1 runs on Unity, caffeine, and pure chaos. Sometimes it’s smooth. Sometimes it turns into a slideshow the second you press Mix. Here’s how to fix that and get the game running like it actually wants to be played.
1. Disable Fullscreen Optimization
Windows thinks it’s helping. It’s not.
Right-click
Schedule1.exe
Go to Properties > Compatibility
Check Disable fullscreen optimizations
Hit Apply
This gives the game full GPU access instead of letting Windows fumble it.
2. Enable Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling
Head to Settings > System > Display > Graphics
Scroll to Change default graphics settings
Turn ON Hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling
Restart your PC
This offloads background GPU tasks and gives that juice back to your game.
3. Set Power Plan to High Performance
Open Control Panel > Power Options
Select the High performance plan
Now your PC won’t throttle performance to “save power” while you’re dodging cops in a lightning storm.
4. Turn On Game Mode
Go to Settings > Gaming > Game Mode
Toggle it ON
This disables background processes while you’re playing, so less Discord lag, more actual gameplay.
5. Fix DPI Scaling Issues
Right-click
Schedule1.exe
, go to Properties > CompatibilityClick Change high DPI settings
Check Override high DPI scaling behavior
Set it to Application
Prevents weird scaling and blurry UI when alt-tabbing.
6. Set GPU Preference to High Performance
Go to Graphics Settings
Add Schedule 1 manually if it’s not already listed
Set the graphics preference to High performance
This forces your GPU to handle Schedule 1, instead of letting your integrated chip take over like a confused intern.
7. Clean Up Startup Programs with Autoruns
Download Autoruns from Microsoft
Uncheck anything you don’t need launching at boot
Less clutter, less lag. Discord updater doesn’t need to launch before you do.
8. Use Optimizer Software (Optional)
Tools like ISLC, JetBoost, or Debloater (the safe kind) can do quick cleanups
Be careful. Don’t go full nuclear with some sketchy “boost FPS now” app
9. Adjust Virtual Memory (Paging File)
Press
Win + R
, typesysdm.cpl
, EnterGo to Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Virtual Memory
Uncheck Auto manage
Select your drive and set:
Initial size: 4096 MB
Max size: 8192 MB
Click Set, then OK, restart
Prevents crashes and stutters during heavy load.
10. Prioritize Performance in Image Settings
For NVIDIA users:
Open NVIDIA Control Panel
Go to Adjust image settings with preview
Select Use my preference emphasizing: Performance
You don’t need RTX shadows while hauling bricks to Benji.
Final Blurb
That’s your full tuning guide, from basic fixes to deep cuts. Schedule 1 may still throw you the occasional Unity tantrum, but after this, it’ll run smoother than Geraldine’s negotiation skills. Restart after changes, don’t forget your restore points—and for the love of Hyland, stop playing on battery saver mode.
