Movie Sonic is finally in Sonic Rumble, and players are still figuring out how to get him. The game doesn’t hand him out automatically, even if you pre-registered. The process is simple once you know where to look.
How to Get Movie Sonic in Sonic Rumble
To unlock Movie Sonic, you must first have the main Sonic character. Once that’s done, tap the Mail icon in the top right corner of the main screen. Inside one of the messages, you’ll see a reward titled Movie Sonic. Open it and claim the reward to add the skin to your collection.
If you already bought Sonic from the shop, that still works. You just need to check your mailbox afterward to trigger the Movie Sonic reward.
Movie Sonic Unlock Window Explained
According to SEGA’s official campaign page, Movie Sonic is available to everyone who downloads and plays Sonic Rumble before December 31, 2025. You didn’t need to pre-register to qualify, but pre-registered players received the reward earlier.
This means you can still unlock Movie Sonic right now just by downloading and playing. Once you log in, the skin will be sent through your in-game mail after the milestone rewards go live.

The Movie Sonic skin was originally the 1.4 million milestone in the pre-registration campaign. SEGA confirmed all milestone rewards will be sent to every account created after global launch. The only requirement is that you log in during the reward period.
