Some weapons in Splitgate 2 are insane, and some others will make you wonder if your gun's firing tiny lil marshmallows. This guide breaks them all down the best guns to the worst in a simple tier list.

S Tier – ABSOLUTELY GODLIKE

These guns take over matches fast.

  • Shotgun – Still disgustingly good in close quarters. One-click delete button.

  • Battle Rifle – It’s too consistent and too deadly at mid-range not to be here.

  • SMG – Quick, accurate, and underused. Feels broken in smaller maps.

A Tier – Powerful but Counterable

Solid weapons with great damage, but not unstoppable.

  • Sniper – Obviously very strong, but slightly more punishing if you miss.

  • Railgun – Same story. High reward, but risky if your timing's off.

  • Carbine – Easy to use, solid range, just lacks wow factor.

  • Rocket Launcher – Big booms, but slow reload and easy to dodge with portals.

  • BFB – One-shot hammer of doom, but predictable if the enemy has space.

B Tier – Good, But Map or Mode Dependent

Situationally strong, but inconsistent overall.

  • Plasma Rifle – Works in some modes, mostly gets outgunned in open space.

  • Pistol – Not great, but surprisingly reliable in clean-up kills.

C Tier – Niche or Just Weak

These are better than nothing... barely.

  • Oddball – You're holding it to score, not to fight. Still, it can bonk.

  • Fists / Melee – Fun to meme with, but you'll probably get shot in the face trying.

D Tier – Don’t Use These Much

Best to avoid these when you can.

  • Sniper – No, not a typo seeing this twice. Put Sniper down here too in case you’re the guy who misses every shot.

F Tier – Just Run

This tier isn’t about fighting.

  • Flag – You carry it, you score, you don’t win 1v1s. Think rugby, not Halo.

Final Blurb

Splitgate 2’s meta is shifting fast, but the core rule holds: grab the best weapon before your enemy does. S-tier guns win fights instantly, but even a low-tier pick can shine with the right setup and portal play.

Just maybe don’t try to 1v3 with your fists... unless you’re trying to be on a highlight reel.

FAQ

Q: Why isn’t the Sniper S tier anymore?

It’s still strong, but the risk/reward is higher with faster-paced matches and portal escapes.

Q: What’s the most underrated weapon?

The SMG. People sleep on it, but it shreds in the right hands.

Q: Why is the Pistol not F tier?

It’s weak, but it actually cleans up kills surprisingly well after a portal flank.

Q: Is the BFB worth going for?

Yes, if you know the spawn and get close. No, if you're chasing across an open map.

Q: Do fists actually work?

Only if you sneak up or someone’s AFK.
