V Rising Gaius Guide

Gaius the Cursed Champion is one of the new bosses introduced in V Rising 1.1: Invaders of Oakveil. He’s a cursed gladiator located in the northeast colosseum of Dunley Farmlands, and defeating him unlocks some serious rewards including the new Twinblades weapon.

Where to Find Gaius the Cursed

  • Head to the Colosseum in northeast Dunley Farmlands.

  • Interact with the summoning flag to start the fight.

  • Be ready—there’s no warm-up. You’re dropped right into it.

How the Fight Works

  • The battle takes place inside a shrinking arena circle.

  • Step outside the zone? You take heavy damage.

  • Gaius uses Twinblades with fast, aggressive combos

    • He throws projectiles twice, back to back, can jump up in the air and land anywhere in the arena, and more.

  • Healing is heavily reduced due to an arena-wide debuff.

How to Beat Gaius

You’ve got two options: fight fair or make the zone kill him for you.

Legit Strategy:

  • Bring mobility spells like Veil of Chaos or Merciless Charge.

  • Stay close but ready to dodge—his attacks come in fast.

  • Build for burst damage and defensive cooldowns.

  • Don’t count on healing—it’s nerfed here.

Cheese Strategy (Zone Kill):

Use abilities to push Gaius outside the arena zone and let the circle damage him:

  • Blood Fount (Blood T5) – Can knock him back

  • Reaper Q ability – Strong forward push

  • Merciless Charge (Chaos Travel skill) – Dash that knocks enemies

  • Mace Q – Heavy hit with knockback

If timed right, you can pinball him out of the safe zone and let the arena do the dirty work.

Rewards for Defeating Gaius

  • Tier 1 Unholy Spell Point

  • Corrupted Skull (new spell)

  • Bone Explosion

  • Ward of the Damned

Structures Unlocked:

  • Arena Station

  • Arena Decorations

  • Weapon Rack: Iron Longswords

Twinblade Weapon Unlock:

  • Twinblade Recipe – Fast dual-wield melee weapon with high DPS potential

Final Blurb

Gaius isn’t just another miniboss; he’s actually pretty tough. You can outplay him with raw skill or shove him out of bounds and let the arena finish the job. Either way, take him down and you’ll walk away with some of the best new loot in Dunley.
