What Happens If You Run Out of Loot in R.E.P.O.?

Deep in a mission, scouring every corner, and suddenly… nothing? No loot. No scrap. No cash. Just the slow, sinking realization that you might have looted yourself into a dead end. What now?

Does the Game Tell You If You're Out of Loot?

Nope. R.E.P.O. isn’t here to hold your hand. If all the loot is gone (or destroyed in the chaos), the game doesn’t flash a big warning saying, “Hey, you’re broke!” Instead, you just feel it—like a repo agent who just realized they’re repossessing empty air.

Can You Lose Because There’s Not Enough Loot?

Yes. If there isn’t enough salvageable loot to meet mission objectives, you’re stuck. The game doesn’t guarantee a minimum amount of loot, meaning bad luck, bad planning, or too much destruction can leave you with nothing but regrets.

Signs You’ve Looted Yourself Into a Corner

  • You check every room, every locker, every broken robot… and find nothing.

  • You need just a bit more cash, but there's literally no way to get it.

  • You accidentally blew up or lost too much loot. Oops.

What Can You Do?

  • Restart from level 1. Painful, but at least you get another shot.

  • Try to be less destructive next time. Every exploded object is potential loot turned into space dust.

  • Blame your teammates. Even if you were solo.

So yeah, if you’re out of loot, you’re actually out of luck. The game won’t warn you—it just lets you figure it out the hard way.
