Windrose Tumbaga Ingot Farm Guide
Tumbaga Ingots can feel limited fast in Windrose, especially once weapon upgrades and ship upgrades start pulling from the same pool. The shortage is real early, but there is a repeatable way to keep getting more once the right area opens up.
Where To Farm Tumbaga Ingots In Windrose
You can farm Tumbaga Ingots in Windrose at the Tainted Ruins of Ancient Temple in the Cursed Swamp by looting the containers there after they respawn.
That is the real answer behind the search. Tumbaga Ingots are not just a one time ancient ruin reward that disappears forever after a clean sweep. The ancient chests do not seem to be the repeatable part, but the containers in that temple area are. Once those start respawning, the resource stops feeling hard capped.
That changes how you handle upgrades. Early on, spending ingots on the wrong weapon can feel permanent. Once this farm is available, you have a real route to keep feeding weapon ascensions and ship gear upgrades without treating every ingot like it is your last.
Why Tumbaga Ingots Feel So Scarce Early
The early zones do not give much room to experiment. Most of the bigger Tumbaga totals are concentrated later, especially once Cursed Swamp opens up. That is why 2 player runs can hit the wall much faster than solo runs. A couple of weapon tests, cannon upgrades, and a hull upgrade can chew through the early supply before the good farming area is even available. Be sure to see our guide on the best cannons here.
That early pressure is what makes the resource feel finite. In practice, it is more accurate to think of Tumbaga as a late opening material. It shows up earlier, but it does not become comfortable to use until much later.
The Best Tumbaga Route Before The Farm Opens
If the farm is not unlocked yet, the best play is not trying to upgrade everything. The cleaner route is to keep Tumbaga focused on gear that is already part of the active setup.
A good early priority looks like this:
main weapon upgrades that are already carrying fights
ship gear that is staying on the current ship
upgrades that immediately help progression instead of side testing
That keeps the run moving without burning through ingots on gear that might sit in storage 10 minutes later.
What To Upgrade First If You Are Low On Ingots
Weapon and ship gear ascensions cost enough that bad spending hurts. If the choice is between testing 3 different weapons or finishing the setup already working, the better move is finishing the setup already working.
This is even more important in co op. 2 players experimenting at the same time can drain the shared supply fast. The smarter approach is to let 1 or 2 core builds carry progression, unlock the Cursed Swamp farm, then open the door to wider testing after that.
A Temporary Workaround If You Need More Right Now
There is also a rough workaround before the late game farm. Some players are creating new characters or new worlds, looting known Tumbaga locations again, then moving the ingots into shared storage. That can work if the goal is just forcing more upgrades before reaching the proper farm.
It is still a workaround, not the clean long term method. The real farm is the Cursed Swamp temple route. If the run can push there, that is the better answer.
Why The Cursed Swamp Farm Solves The Problem
The reason this route matters is simple. Once Tumbaga becomes farmable, upgrades stop being locked behind one time exploration rewards. That makes Windrose feel very different if the plan is to test more weapons, support 2 players, or fully build out ship gear instead of settling for whatever got upgraded first.
Without that farm, every early ascension has a real opportunity cost. With it, the pressure drops and the game gives much more room to experiment.

Final Blurb
Tumbaga Ingots are not truly finite in Windrose. The real farm is in the Tainted Ruins of Ancient Temple in the Cursed Swamp, where respawning containers give you a repeatable source once that area is open. Until then, the best move is spending carefully, upgrading the gear already helping the run, and pushing into the Swamp as soon as possible.
