Every stat you level in Tainted Grail: The Fall of Avalon feeds into something under the hood. That "something" is an attribute... or, more accurately, a bunch of them.

These hidden numbers control how hard you hit, how fast you move, how sneaky you are, and how badly that rat just rekt you.

This guide breaks down every attribute in the game, what it affects, and which stat it’s tied to, if any.

What Are Attributes?

When you level up in Tainted Grail, you put points into one of six core stats. Each of those stats affects specific attributes, like melee damage or stamina.

Some attributes also come from gear or bonuses, but most are shaped by how you build your character.

You won’t see all of these during your normal playthrough unless you’re staring at your stat page, but they’re always working in the background.

Here’s a table with it all, and we’ll write more in depth on each section below.

Armor Weight Multiplier

This controls how much stamina you lose just by wearing armor.

Heavy armor drains more stamina unless you have the Strength to support it. If your gear says “requires 5 Strength” and you only have 2, your stamina will vanish fast.

To lower stamina loss from armor, raise Strength to meet the weight requirement.

Armor

Armor is straight-up damage reduction.

The higher your armor rating, the less damage you take, no matter the source. This isn’t based on a stat, just on what you're wearing.

Better gear equals better protection. No math tricks here.

Attack Speed

Attack Speed makes your melee swings faster.

It’s tied to Dexterity and helps with lighter weapons like daggers, short swords, and claws. Slow weapons stay slow even with high Dex, but anything one-handed benefits a lot.

If your hits feel sluggish, check your Dexterity.

Crafting Bonus

Crafting Bonus improves how efficient you are when crafting.

Higher Practicality reduces the amount of materials needed and increases output in some recipes. You’ll also see fewer failed crafts.

This is the stat to boost if you plan to cook, brew, or make gear often.

Critical Chance

Critical Chance increases the odds of landing a critical hit.

It applies to melee, ranged, or sneak attacks unless otherwise stated. It scales with Perception and stacks well with fast weapons that hit often.

More hits, more chances to crit.

Critical Damage

Critical Damage increases how much extra damage a crit does.

It also scales with Perception. You’ll notice this more when you already have decent crit chance. Big crits are great... bigger crits are better.

This pairs well with stealth builds or anything fast and stabby.

Encumbrance Limit

This is how much weight you can carry before getting slowed down.

It’s tied to Endurance. Go over your limit and your sprinting, dodging, and movement all suffer.

Carry heavy gear? Invest in Endurance or stash more often.

Health

Health is your total hit points... the red bar.

It’s boosted by Endurance. Every point gives you a bit more of a safety cushion in fights.

High HP doesn’t win fights alone, but it gives you room for mistakes.

Lifesteal

Lifesteal restores a bit of health when you deal damage.

It’s not linked to any attribute. You’ll see it on weapons, gear, or passives. It works on both melee and ranged, but not spells unless otherwise stated.

It’s small but can keep you alive in longer fights.

Magic Critical Chance

This raises the chance for spells to deal critical hits.

Not linked to any stat. It’s mostly tied to spell gear or specific upgrades. Helpful if you're stacking spell damage and want those extra bursts.

It’s a niche stat but strong in pure magic builds.

Mana Regeneration

This is how fast your mana refills.

It scales with Spirituality. The higher it is, the faster your blue bar comes back after casting. If you're running out of mana too fast, this is why.

More regen = more spells per fight.

Mana

Mana is your spellcasting pool... the blue bar.

Also tied to Spirituality. Every point gives you more total mana to cast with. Some high-cost spells need a large pool to even use them.

No Spirituality = very few spells.

Melee Damage

This increases your close-range weapon damage.

It scales with Strength. Two-handers, swords, axes... all of them hit harder with more Strength.

Basic but effective. Hit harder, kill faster.

Ranged Damage

This increases bow, crossbow, and throwing weapon damage.

It scales with Dexterity. If your arrows feel weak, this is the stat that fixes it.

Great for stealth builds or anyone keeping distance.

Spell Power

Spell Power boosts how much damage your offensive spells do.

It scales with Spirituality. Buffs and heals don’t usually benefit, just damage spells like fireballs and bolts.

This is your magic DPS stat.

Movement Speed

Movement Speed changes how fast your character walks and runs.

Not tied to any stat. It can be altered by gear, buffs, or going over your weight limit.

Good for kiting, flanking, or just running away faster.

Noise

Noise is how loud you are when moving.

It scales with Dexterity. High Dexterity = quieter movement. This is key for stealth builds or sneaking past enemies.

If you keep getting caught while crouching, this might be the issue.

Price of Bought Goods

This lowers how much gold you spend in shops.

Not linked to any attribute. It’s affected by items or gear that reduce merchant prices.

Good for hoarders or penny-pinchers.

Price of Sold Goods

This raises how much gold you get when selling items.

It scales with Practicality. The higher it is, the more profit you get for the same loot.

Nice passive boost for crafters and traders.

Ranged Critical Chance

This increases your crit chance with bows and other ranged weapons.

Not tied to a stat, usually found on gear or perks. Combine with Ranged Damage for max value.

If you're a headshot machine, it pays off.

Sneak Damage

Sneak Damage increases how much damage you do while undetected.

It scales with Perception. Stab someone in the back with this stat high and they usually don’t get back up.

Essential for stealth and backstab builds.

Stamina & Mana Cost

This lowers how much stamina and mana you use for actions and spells.

It scales with Practicality. Great for hybrid builds or anyone who casts often while dodging or sprinting.

Less cost = more actions before running dry.

Stamina Regeneration

This is how fast your stamina refills.

It scales with Endurance. Crucial if you're dodging, sprinting, or swinging constantly.

Without stamina, you’re a sitting duck.

Stamina

This is your action bar... used for running, dodging, blocking, and attacking.

It scales with Strength. Bigger bar = more freedom in fights before needing to stop.

Run out of stamina, and you’re out of options.

Weak Spot Damage

This boosts damage when you hit an enemy's weak point.

It scales with Practicality. Usually works with ranged or aimed attacks, but also helps on precision melee builds.

Line up your shots and this makes them count more.

Final Blurb & FAQ

If your build feels weak, your attributes are probably off. Core stats are important, but it's the attributes they unlock that make or break a character.

Always double-check the bonuses you’re getting when you level, and don’t be afraid to respec with an Origin Potion if you realize your crit mage build forgot to invest in crit chance.

Also... don’t forget your armor weight multiplier. Nobody likes dodging in slow motion.

FAQ

Q: Do I need to memorize what each attribute does?

No, but knowing the ones tied to your build helps a lot.

Q: Are attributes only raised through core stats?

Most are, but some come from perks, gear, or skill bonuses.

Q: What’s the best attribute for a new player?

Health and stamina regen are safe bets early on. Crit builds are fun later.

Q: Why does my spell still feel weak with high Spirituality?

Check your spell power and mana. Some spells scale differently, and gear matters too.

Q: Can I see these numbers in the menu?

Yes. Open your character screen and scroll through the different stat pages.

Q: What’s the most important attribute in the game?

Depends on your build... but stamina and regen affect nearly everything. Don’t skip them.
