Assassin’s Creed Shadows packs a huge story, told over 14 chapters with about 80 main missions. If you’re aiming to clear every chapter and mission, expect to spend around 35 hours—more if you’re someone who chases side quests, loot, and that last enemy who dared to look at you funny.

Some chapters fly by in one or two missions, while others (looking at you, Fall of the Shinbakufu) go on for 8 hours or more. And yes, you can often pick the order you tackle missions, but here’s the full recommended list, start to finish.
