If you're playing as Naoe in Assassin’s Creed Shadows and wondering how to spot enemies through walls like a sneaky ninja wizard, you’re looking for Eagle Vision—now rebranded as “Observation Mode”. It’s not just a flashy effect; it’s a stealth essential that helps you plan ambushes, mark targets, and generally avoid being stabbed in the back.

Here’s how to unlock Eagle Vision/Observation Mode, how it works, and what buttons to press before you get caught staring at enemies in plain sight.

How to Unlock Eagle Vision

You unlock Eagle Vision/Observation Mode as Naoe after reaching Knowledge Rank 1—basically, the game's way of saying, “You’ve done enough beginner stuff, here’s your ninja goggles.”

  • How to Reach Knowledge Rank 1:

    • Complete quests, side activities, and eliminate targets as either Naoe or Yasuke.

    • These actions grant Knowledge Points.

    • Once you have enough, you hit Rank 1, and boom—Eagle Vision is yours.

  • No Mastery Points needed at first, but later upgrades do require them.

How to Use Eagle Vision

  • On Console: Hold Right Analog Stick

  • On PC: Press V

  • Effect: Enemies and points of interest are highlighted in a glowing outline—yes, even through walls. Great for finding who’s about to ruin your day.

What It Actually Does (Rank 1 Effect)

  • Marks enemies nearby—whether they’re behind cover or strolling around.

  • Highlights interactable objects or quest-related items.

  • Upgradable: Future ranks (via Mastery Points) likely increase range or duration—because more glowing enemies = better odds of survival.

Who Gets Eagle Vision?

  • Only Naoe gets traditional Eagle Vision.

  • Yasuke, being more “punch first, questions later,” does not use it. He has different tools for combat and exploration.

Final Blurb

Eagle Vision in Assassin’s Creed Shadows is your best friend for sneaky business—spotting threats, planning moves, or just pretending you’re smarter than every guard in Japan. Unlock it early, spam it often, and remember: V is for Victory (and Vision).
