Leveling up pets in World of Warcraft can be slow, but there are ways to make it [relatively] quick and easy! If you’re ready to get your pets to max level fast, here’s a guide to the best repeatable trainers and a few solid tips for efficient leveling.

Use Trainers

While battling wild pets is an option, repeatable trainers give you five times the experience. Most trainers limit you to one fight per day, but some allow repeat battles, making them ideal for powerleveling. Let’s dive into the best trainers for fast leveling and the gear setups that work best.

The Best Trainers for Pet Powerleveling

1. Squirt

Squirt is hands-down the best option for leveling. Found in your garrison’s menagerie, she’s available every 15 days, giving you an easy, reliable way to quickly gain pet experience. Plus, an NPC nearby can heal your pets for free after each battle, which saves tons of time and resources.

Recommended Strategy:

  • Use Ravenous Prideling and Widget the Departed.

  • Fight time: around 1 minute and 10 seconds

  • Works for level 1 pets, super safe, and easy to repeat.

2. Legion Tamers

Legion trainers tied to the Family Familiar achievement are another great option, especially if you catch them during active world quests. They have a similar experience boost and can be battled multiple times, with added perks like character experience. Bring pet bandages since there aren’t stablemasters close by.

Some recommended fights:

  • Xu-Fu, Cub of Xuen: ~1:35, safe for low-level pets.

  • Odrogg (Snail Fight!): ~55 seconds, quick and great for starting pets.

  • Sir Galveston in Dalaran: ~1:05, straightforward and easy for beginners.

3. Other Daily Trainers

When you don’t have access to repeatable trainers, check out daily tamers in Warlords of Draenor and Mists of Pandaria. Tamers like Crysa in Kalimdor or Jeremy Feasel at the Darkmoon Faire are good options, especially if you’re already in the area. Draenor tamers, like Ashlei, offer higher XP and some cool rewards.

Wild Pet Battles: The Alternative

If repeatable trainers aren’t active, wild pets can still work, especially since wild pet XP was doubled in recent updates. For quick battles, look for areas with predictable pet types. For example, Frostfire Ridge has Icespine Hatchlings, which you can counter effectively for fast XP.

Quick Wild Pet Setup:

  • Team: Rotten Little Helper, Feline Familiar, Level Pet (300-500 health).

  • Fight duration: 30-60 seconds, with low health loss.

Boost Your XP Gains

To get even more experience from these battles, stack these buffs:

  • Safari Hat: +10% XP, available as a toy after completing the "Taming the World" achievement.

  • Pet Treats: 25% and 50% Pet Treats can be purchased from pet vendors, each lasting an hour.

  • Darkmoon Top Hat: +10% XP from Darkmoon Faire, which runs once a month.

  • Pet Battle Bonus Event: Watch for these weekly events that boost XP by 100%.

Add-ons for Easy Leveling

To streamline pet leveling, add-ons like Rematch and TD Scripts are a must. Rematch helps you organize pet teams, while TD Scripts automate move sequences so you only need one button press per turn. Adding UltraSquirt makes healing and resetting fights a breeze, letting you level your pets with minimal effort.
