How Comfort Works in Rust
Comfort is a healing mechanic in Rust that allows you to regenerate health when you’re near comfort sources. Here’s how it works:
What is Comfort Healing?
Comfort Healing is a type of health regeneration that activates when you are near objects or areas that grant the Comfort status.
It heals approximately 1% of your max health per second while decreasing your food and water levels.
How to Activate Comfort Healing
Comfort Sources:
Campfires
Large furnaces
Bear rugs
Other cozy items like ceiling-mounted bear rugs or indoor fireplaces.
Requirements for Comfort Healing:
Food: Must have over 100 food.
Water: Must have at least 40 water.
No negative status effects like bleeding or radiation poisoning.
Maxing Out Comfort
You can achieve 100% Comfort by standing directly under certain comfort items, like the head of a bear rug mounted on the ceiling.
Higher comfort levels speed up health regeneration, making it valuable in safe zones like your base.
How Comfort Works With Other Healing Types
Comfort healing can stack with other types of healing, like as instant healing or healing over time.
Using comfort alongside bandages, syringes, or food can quickly restore your health after a fight or accident.
Tips for Comfort Healing
Use comfort healing in safe locations (like your base) where you can stay still without risk of attack.
Combine comfort healing with food healing by eating to keep your food and water levels high while healing.
Avoid bleeding or stepping into dangerous environments (like cactus patches) while healing, as this will interrupt the process.
