Breaking down extra gear you no longer need is a great way to gather materials for upgrades in Avowed. It’s a simple process that can be done from the inventory menu. Here’s a quick guide to show you how on both PC and Xbox.

Steps to Break Down Equipment:

1. Find Unwanted Gear

   • Look for armor or weapons that you don’t need or plan to use. You can break these down for materials to upgrade your better equipment.

2. Open Your Inventory

   • Pause the game and navigate to your Inventory menu to see all your items.

3. Select the Item to Break Down

   • Highlight the armor or weapon you want to break down. Check its description to see which materials it will give you when broken down.

4. Break It Down

   • Hold X on console or R on PC to break the item down into its materials.

Additional Tips:

• Upgraded Gear: If you break down a piece of upgraded gear, you will get most of the materials back, though not all of them.
