If you were hoping to team up with friends and take on the Living Lands together, bad news—Avowed is strictly single-player. There’s no co-op, no multiplayer, and no signs that Obsidian Entertainment plans to add it in the future.
Why Doesn't Avowed Have Co-Op?
Originally it was actually going to have it. Obsidian first planned to include co-op, but it was scrapped in early development (very sadly).
It didn’t fit the game. The team decided multiplayer was holding back their vision for Avowed’s RPG mechanics and world design.
They focused on single-player. By cutting co-op, Obsidian could fully commit to creating a deep, story-driven experience without balancing for multiple players.
Will Avowed Get Co-Op in the Future?
Highly unlikely. There’s no indication that Obsidian plans to add multiplayer.
