How to Fix Marvel Rivals and Discord Not Working Issue

Can’t get Discord to work with Marvel Rivals? Don’t worry, you’re not cursed. A lot of players are running into this, and there are a few fixes that might be able to help.

Possible Causes

  • Marvel Rivals' anti-cheat uses admin privileges, which can interfere with Discord.

  • Wireless headsets can get signal interference from your GPU when it’s under load.

  • Audio drivers may be out of date or incorrectly installed.

  • You might just need to poke Discord’s settings to wake it up.

Fix #1 – Run Discord as Admin

Discord needs to match the game’s privileges to work properly. Here’s how:

  1. Press Windows Key + R, type %localappdata%, hit Enter.

  2. Open the Discord folder, then the app-* folder (version number may vary).

  3. Right-click Discord.exe, go to Properties > Compatibility tab.

  4. Check “Run this program as administrator”, click Apply > OK.

  5. Restart Discord and the game.

Fix #2 – Move USB Wireless Adapter (If Using One)

If you’re using a wireless headset, your GPU might be interfering with the signal:

  • Move your USB wireless adapter from the back of the PC to the front USB port.

  • This reduces interference and has worked for several players.

Fix #3 – Check Audio Drivers

  • Open Device Manager.

  • Look for your audio device under “Sound, video and game controllers.”

  • If there’s a yellow warning icon, reinstall your driver.

  • Update it from your headset or motherboard’s official website.

Fix #4 – Reset Output in Discord

Sometimes Discord just needs a little nudge:

  • Go to Discord Settings > Voice & Video.

  • Find Output Device, and select the same option it’s already on.

  • Yes, really. Just re-selecting it can wake up your audio.

Bonus Tip – Turn Off Nvidia Noise Canceling

If you’re using Nvidia Broadcast or noise canceling, try turning it off. Some players found this was messing with Discord audio, especially during load screens.

Final Blurb

Marvel Rivals and Discord not getting along? It’s common—but fixable. Whether it’s admin mode, USB ports, or stubborn drivers, one of these tricks should get your voice chat back. And if all else fails, just blame the anti-cheat and shout your callouts through the wall like a true hero.
