How to Respec in Path of Exile 2

In Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) you can respec your passive skill points to change your character's abilities and optimize your build. Here’s how to respec:
1. Unlock the Ability to Respec
To unlock respecs, you need to complete certain quests early in the game:
In Act 1, complete the quests “The Mysterious Shade” and “Sorrow Among Stones”.
These quests involve reviving The Hooded One at the Clearfell Encampment. This process can take 2 to 5 hours, depending on your progress.
2. Visit The Hooded One
After completing the quests, go to The Hooded One in the Clearfell Encampment.
Interact with The Hooded One and choose the “Refund Passives” option to open your passive skill tree.
3. Refund Passive Skill Points
Select the passive skills you want to reset in the tree.
Refunds cost gold, with the price increasing as your character level rises. Respeccing can be expensive, especially early in the game when gold is limited.
4. Reassign Your Points
After refunding, use the freed-up points to select new skills that better match your desired build.
Additional Notes
Respec Ascendancy Points: Resetting Ascendancy skills costs five times as much gold as regular skill points. Plan your choices carefully to avoid unnecessary costs.
Gold Management: Gold is shared between characters (except in Hardcore or Solo Self-Found modes). Manage it wisely to make respecs easier.
