Where and How to Get Spirit in Path of Exile 2

Spirit is an important resource in Path of Exile 2, especially for builds that rely on minions or passive benefits. By default, all characters start with zero Spirit, but you can increase it as you progress through the game.

There are three main ways to obtain Spirit in PoE2: defeating specific bosses, using Spirit-boosting gear, or choosing the Infernalist Ascendancy.

1. Defeating Spirit Bosses

Certain bosses drop items that increase your Spirit pool when consumed. These bosses are found across different acts, and defeating them grants permanent Spirit bonuses.

  • Act 1 – Freythorn: Defeat The King in the Mists for +30 Spirit (from the Gembloom Skull).

  • Act 3 – The Azak Bog: Defeat Ignaduk, The Bog Witch for +30 Spirit.

  • Act 3 – The Azak Bog (Cruel Difficulty): Defeat Ignaduk again for +40 Spirit.

Many optional bosses can also drop Spirit-boosting items, but these are not guaranteed. If you are farming Spirit, look for special boss icons on the map to find potential Spirit drops.

2. Using Spirit-Boosting Gear

Some weapons, armor, and accessories can increase your Spirit capacity. When looting new gear, check its affixes to see if it has a Spirit bonus.

Two known pieces of Spirit-boosting gear:

  • Scepter – Grants +100 Spirit (requires an off-hand slot).

  • Solar Amulet – Provides a Spirit bonus, though less than the Scepter.

If you cannot find gear with Spirit bonuses, you can:

  • Use Exalted Orbs to add affixes to existing items.

  • Check vendors for random gear that might have Spirit bonuses.

If you are using a two-handed weapon or a shield, you will not be able to equip the Scepter, so an amulet or another Spirit-boosting item is the best alternative.

3. Choosing the Infernalist Ascendancy (Witch Only)

If you are playing a Witch, unlocking the Infernalist Ascendancy will allow you to gain Spirit through passives.

  • The Beidat’s Will passive increases Spirit for every 25 points of maximum health.

  • As you level up, you can select more life-boosting passives, allowing you to generate more Spirit naturally.

This method is only available to Witches, but it allows you to gain Spirit without relying on bosses or gear.

Final Notes

To increase your Spirit in Path of Exile 2, you should:

  1. Defeat Spirit bosses for permanent Spirit boosts.

  2. Find and equip gear with Spirit bonuses.

  3. Use the Infernalist Ascendancy if you are playing as a Witch.

If your build requires a lot of Spirit, you may need to combine multiple methods to get enough. Keep an eye on boss drops, vendor gear, and passives to make the most of this valuable resource.
