Monster Hunter Wilds now allows players to swap weapons mid-hunt. Unlike older games where you had to return to camp to change weapons, you can now switch in real-time using Seikret, your trusty mount.
Here’s a basic guide on how to swap weapons.
How to Set Up Your Weapons
Before heading out on a hunt, make sure to select your weapons at camp:
Enter a tent at any camp and open the Equipment Menu.
Click on "Change Equipment" to see your available weapons and armor.
Choose a Primary and Secondary Weapon from the list.
Your hunt begins with the Primary weapon, but you can swap to the Secondary when needed.
How to Switch Weapons During a Hunt
Once you're in battle, follow these steps to switch weapons:
Summon Seikret by pressing “X” on PC or “Right D-Pad” on Console.
Mount Seikret—your hunter will automatically hop on.
Your weapon will swap to your Secondary Weapon from the sheath.
Important Notes:
Swapping isn’t instant, so time it carefully to not get hit.
You can’t switch weapons without Seikret, so make sure it’s available when needed.
Why This is Awesome
This feature adds new ways to fight:
Different Monsters – Switch to a weapon that hits harder or has better reach.
Stay Flexible – If melee isn’t working, swap to a ranged weapon.
Support Your Team – Switch to a healing or defensive weapon when needed.
You don’t have to swap weapons, but it can make fights easier and more fun. Whether you're adjusting to a monster’s moves or just looking for a faster kill, this feature changes the game.
Happy hunting!
