If you’ve just built your little camp and wandered over to a peaceful river thinking, “Hey, where’s my fishing rod?” then you’re definitely a man/woman of culture because we’ve thought the same thing. Will Fishing Come to the Game?
It’s probably not gone forever. Fishing has always been a core skill in RuneScape—across both the classic and modern versions. It would be very surprising if Dragonwilds didn’t eventually add some kind of fishing system. The game is already built around survival, cooking, and gathering, so fishing fits perfectly into the mix.
No official word has confirmed fishing is on the way that we’re aware of, but the Early Access roadmap promises more skills are coming (like farming and expanded magic & ranged). So, while you can't fish yet, it’s probably only a matter of time before they let us poke the water with sticks and call it content.
Final Blurb
You can’t fish in Dragonwilds right now, but don’t pack away your dreams of catching trout just yet. If the past 20 years of RuneScape have taught us anything, it’s that fishing always finds a way.
