If you’re stuck on the “For the Victory” quest in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and can’t unlock the herbs chest to get the wine for Capon, don’t panic—you’ve got options.

Option 1: Just Ask for It

Good news: you don’t actually need to lockpick the chest.

  • Simply talk to the herbalist and tell her you can’t open it.

  • She’ll give you the wine anyway, saving you the frustration of snapping lockpicks.

If you’re struggling with the lock and don’t want to level up your Thievery, this is the easiest route.

Option 2: Pickpocket the Key

If you’re feeling sneaky, someone might have the key.

  • Try pickpocketing NPCs nearby, especially if you see anyone working in the kitchen or storage area.

  • If you’re caught, reload your save and try again when they’re alone.

This is a riskier method, but if you’re determined to avoid leveling lockpicking, it’s worth a shot.

Option 3: Train Your Lockpicking (If You’re Stubborn)

If you really want to open the chest yourself but a Medium lock is too hard, you’ll need to grind some XP.

  • Find and open Easy locks around the world.

  • Use Quick Fingers Potions to boost your skill.

  • Knock out an NPC and practice on their chest or pockets.

This takes more time, but it will help long-term if you plan on playing a thief-heavy build.

Final Blurb

You don’t need to lockpick this chest to progress. Just tell the herbalist you can’t do it, and she’ll hand over the wine. If you’re still determined to break into it, pickpocket for a key or train your skills—but really, just take the easy way out this time.
