To get the Wrench in Loftia, complete the Keeping the Lights On quest. The Wrench is obtained through this quest and is used to repair broken objects throughout Gridfall.
Once you have the Wrench, you can begin repairing objects such as leaking pipes, lamp posts, hydroponic machines, launchpads, and ziplines.
Some repairs can be completed with the Wrench alone, while others require a Repair Kit in your inventory.

Best Wrench Repairs to Prioritize
If you're trying to level your Repairing skill without spending Repair Kits, focus on Leaking Pipes and Lamp Posts. Both provide 10 XP per repair, require no additional parts, and respawn after five minutes.
For collecting larger amounts of Rusted Metal, Launchpads, Ziplines, and Battery Totems are better targets. Each provides 20 XP alongside five or six Rusted Metal, although you'll need one Repair Kit for every repair.
Hydroponic Machines are worth prioritizing when you specifically need Rust Resistant Alloy. They require one Repair Kit and reward one or two pieces of the material, along with 10 XP.
I'd recommend using free repairs to build Repairing XP and saving your Repair Kits for whichever material you currently need. That way, you're not spending additional resources simply to complete repairs that could have been done for free elsewhere.
