Marvel Rivals How to Play Thor
Thor is a vanguard tank in Marvel Rivals who is great for jumping into fights, breaking up the enemy team, and taking out weaker heroes. Here’s some information and tips on how to play Thor:
Thor’s Abilities
Mjolnir Bash (Basic Attack)
Thor hits enemies for 45 damage.
When he uses Awakening Rune, this attack fires projectiles that deal 70 damage.
Hammer Throw (Secondary Attack)
Thor throws Mjolnir, dealing 70 damage on the way out and 30 damage when it returns.
Great for hitting groups of enemies.
Lightning Realm (E)
Creates a circle that deals 40 damage when enemies enter or leave it.
Refills Thor Force, which powers his other abilities.
Storm Surge (Shift)
Dash forward, hitting enemies for 40 damage without charging or 60 damage with a full charge.
Fully charging increases the distance but isn’t always necessary.
Awakening Rune (F)
Uses Thor Force to give Thor bonus health and makes his Mjolnir Bash fire projectiles.
Each charge of Thor Force adds 100 bonus health (up to 300).
God of Thunder (Ultimate)
Thor jumps into the air and smashes the ground, dealing 40 to 220 damage depending on how long it’s charged.
Great for team fights or finishing off enemies.
Team-Up Abilities
With Hela or Loki: Thor can be resurrected and gain bonus health.
With Storm or Captain America: Adds lightning effects or stuns enemies near Captain America’s shield.
How to Play Thor
Use Abilities in the Right Order
Start with Lightning Realm to recharge your Thor Force.
Then use Awakening Rune for bonus health and stronger attacks.
Jump Into Fights
Use Storm Surge to dash into enemies.
Drop Lightning Realm to trap them and charge your Thor Force.
Hit Hard with Mjolnir Bash
When you activate Awakening Rune, use the enhanced Mjolnir Bash to deal big damage.
Focus on weaker enemies like healers or damage dealers.
Use Your Ultimate at the Right Time
Save God of Thunder for big moments, like team fights or groups of enemies.
Fully charging it does the most damage but takes longer to activate.
Stay Close to the Action
Thor works best when he’s in the middle of fights.
Use Hammer Throw to hit multiple enemies, especially when they’re grouped up.
Tips for Playing Thor
Keep Thor Force Charged
Use Lightning Realm often to refill your Thor Force, which powers most of your abilities.
Target Weaker Enemies
Focus on heroes like Luna Snow or Rocket Raccoon. Thor’s big damage can take them out fast.
Don’t Overcharge Storm Surge
You don’t always need to fully charge Storm Surge. A quick dash is often enough.
Work with Your Team
Pair Thor with heroes like Hela, Loki, or Storm for powerful team-up effects.
Know When to Back Off
Thor is tough, but he’s not invincible. Use your dash or ultimate to escape if needed.
